Someone on the MLS board said there was some information about Etcheverry in the Spanish press. So I looked into it and this is what I found. There's not much new here but it is interesting to note that Etcheverry still doesn't know what his soccer future holds. (The article was posted on 12/19.) His contract, I think, expires at the end of this month (correct me if I've got that wrong). I'd think they'd tell him one way or another before the new year. Perhaps not ...
The midfielder of the D.C. United, the Bolivian Marco Antonio Etcheverry, was invited for the farewell of the former high-scoring Chilean Iván Zamorano, that will be carried out at the end of month in Santiago.

Future in the air

The Bolivian star confirmed the invitation of Zamorano and his participation in a television program in Bolivia. "It will be a honor to be in the farewell of a great footballer and I will do it in representation of the Bolivian soccer", declared the 'Devil'.

With relation to his soccer future, Marco Etcheverry ratified that he will coach in the recently elevated to professional soccer, La Paz Fútbol Club, but he indicated not to know if he will continue his career in the D.C. United or in Qatar. "If I continue in the United States I will be able to play some months in Bolivia until the season in the MLS begins ", he affirmed.

Etcheverry, who carries eight seasons in the D.C., arrived in country to spend the festivals of Christmas and New Year with his relatives and friends.
Slightly edited from FreeTranslation (http://www.freetranslation.com/) using my exceedingly rusty high school Spanish and an educated guess or two. :)

There are a few more paragraphs that I couldn't fully make sense of. If anyone can offer any insight into them I'm sure it would be much appreciated.

And what is this coaching business he's involved in? Or is that translation all messed up?

It says he's training with them, not coaching them.
