even if we had finished top, we would have faced potentially tough opposition, so without sounding bad the loss to Porto was of little consequence IMO. juve or inter would have been difficult, just as barca would be.

but i'd rather have barca personally. I want revenge from 2006 and we can beat anybody on our day.

Kinda sucks no CL football for another 3 months:(

I want Panthinaikos or Roma. Can't see us losing to either team. Let's take care of Barca in the final.

Actually, its kinda good for us. This CL break will give us some time to fix our problems and hopefully some players to come back from injuries.

I have listed most wanted to least wanted below:

Pana
Roma
Bayern
Juventus
Barca

As of right now I think we'd have a reasonable chance of beating everyone on that list but Barca. Of course, CL knockout stages are about 2 and a half months away and anything can happen between now and then. Even if we get Barca...there's no need to worry until closer to the round of 16 b/c anything could happen...injuries, drop in form, etc.

Beating barca in the round of 16 won't be revenge..i was in paris that night in 2006
paid 800 euro for a ticket..payback will be beating those motherfuc&ers in the final in rome in 6 months time...round of 16 means nothing

it's a little early choose, considering a lot can happen between now and february... but right now, i'd like to play bayern. they play a really open game, and are susceptible in the back. the games could be quite entertaining.

I'm afraid even if we're 'on our day' and Barca are 'on their day' we might just get killed. We need an opposition of their quality to have an off day or not take their chances for us to beat them.

I dunno; after watching yesterday's matches and daring to compare, Bartha would murder us right now, full stop. There were some points in yesterday's match where I almost wept; they played like we used to play, and their win was thoroughly deserved.

If we were to play Barcelona today, i would be very afraid.

However, we dont. If we were to draw them and had to play them, it would be for another 3 months...

Hopefully, we can get a few players back from Injury, and hopefully, we would be welcoming into the squad a few new players via the transfer markey.

In 3 months time, things could be different and perhaps Barca would fear us more than some of you fear them.

Just a thought though:cool:

Panathanaikos, easily.

Dont under estimate Greek teams. They have nothing but heart.

they could easily nick a draw at the Emirates, and win in Athens.

Paok beat us back in 1997 in Thessaloniki (i was there, absolute AMAZING atmosphere, UNBElieVAble, and drew at Highbury)

Again, we seem to do better against "big" teams so i dont want to play the so called "small" team Panathinaikos

I say Panathanaikos, but playing
Greece is hard and anything can happen.

Every club looks tough.

Since you've all mentioned it, a Bayern matchup would be fun to watch. We haven't played them in ages.
