Hey new here as well, the cup is preseason deal for the MLS right? If so we are in such a bad position with our scheduling, as we already know> Love to see some type of Atlantic Cup for our teams after the season or during and after with Home nations.

The 1st round might start before the MLS season, but other than that no. The final is sometime in late May I believe...

Second leg – 24 March

Wow ... now this is an exciting tournament <sigh>.
We HAVE to merge the Copa Libertadores & this non-sense so all the Americas finally play each other.
Someone tell Jack Warner to leave his crookedness behind and let CONCACAF develop finally.

I'm all for it, but unless the participating teams get to fly with Concord airplanes, the traveling distance is a problem.

Yeah, but the greatest pick up in B-More goes into the Gyms.We will use the college 4 gyms, try and keep each side to 7-8 and float 2 and 3 gyms. A teacher got this going about 17 -18 years ago.

Pachuca just lost to Tigres 1:0 in the 2nd leg of the MFL final, but still won on aggregate. Pachuca will therefore be the second team representing Mexico at the 2004 Champions Cup (Tigres gets to participate in the pre-libertadores interliga instead).

Scheduling's still quite poor. A lot of MLS doesn't get a decent preseason due to climate, so MLS clubs don't hit their real form until late April or early May. Mexican clubs are still in mid-to-late season form throughout the tournament. If each round of the tournament were pushed back about three weeks, we'd actually have both MLS and MFL clubs in top form for both semifinals and final.

Yes, the schedule is not ideal (from a MLS persepective), but the MLS season will have started by the time MLS teams face MFL sides in the semis. The problem is MLS' schedule. I for one really hope MLS adopts a more traditional schedule once all MLS sides have control of their stadium. By more traditional I mean summer offseason and a winter break - you can schedule the month before and after the winter break in the warmer south of the country. You can't really expect Concacaf to adjust their schedule, it has to be the other way around.

This just won't happen. Not when the American sports calendar features pro & college football on fall weekends. And THAT'S not changing.

Read my post carefully, I know it's not not possible right now (due to stadium issues), but I'm confident it can be done in the future (once MLS owns its stadia)...

Alajuelense beat Municipal and made it to the cup. Now there's 2 teams from each of the Concacaf top 3 countries in the cup.

I think you need to look a little closer at the post you quoted. This will never happen because COLLEGE AND PRO FOOTBALL play in the fall! Now no more of this crap in this thread.Btw I think Pachuca will win over the Fire in the final.

And? We already overlap with COLLEGE AND PRO FOOTBALL(!) in the fall. The media already ignores us, so nothing will change.
But enough about the schedule, this isn't the thread for it.

Quick question: If a MLS team wins the double, who gets the second slot?

If was like last year, then likely the MLS Cup runner-up.
