Okay. So we have finished top of the table. :)

Now, we have some more stuff to discuss and talk about. Of course, not all groups are set, but we can still talk about stuff right? I am really bored.

Group A
Winners - Roma
Runner-Up - Chelsea
UEFA Cup - Bordeaux

Group B
Winners - Panathinaikos
Runner-Up - Inter Milan
UEFA Cup - Werder Bremen

Group C
Winners - Barcelona
Runner-Up - Sporting Lisbon
UEFA Cup - Shakhtar Donetsk

Group D
Winners - Liverpool
Runner-Up - Atletico Madrid
UEFA Cup - Marseille

Group E
Winners - Manchester United
Runners-Up - Villarreal
UEFA Cup - Aalborg BK

Group F
Winners - Bayern
Runners-Up - Lyon
UEFA Cup - Fiorentina

Group G
Winners - Porto
Runners-Up - Arsenal
UEFA Cup - Dynamo Kiev

Group H
Winners - Juventus
Runners-Up - Real Madrid
UEFA Cup - Zenit St. Petersburg

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We have protection from playing someone from our group right? And we also have protection from playing an English team?

So right now we are looking at playing either Sporting or Inter.

That's all for now. Discuss if you must, but there will be more to discuss tomorrow.

Okay. So we have finished top of the table. :)

Id like to see a much bigger grin if we hear those words again at the end of May.

I will be grinning like a drunk college kid.

Mainly because we won, but also because I am a college kid who likes a drink or two or ten.

But if we do draw an easy side- you can imagine the whinging that "how lucky is Liverpool" we will hear from everyone who can't stand the fact that we are so good at this comp! ;)

All teams are decent teams at this stage. To win the competition we have to face good teams.

I wouldn't mind facing Porto, Sporting, or Lyon. From my memory, we seem to have the measure of French and Portuguese teams.

Also, apart from our loss to AC Milan in the final, we have had Italian team's numbers.

Real are low on confidence and high on injuries. Villareal are good, but not great.

I think right now I would most like to avoid Bayern Munich (plus couldn't imagine what it would do to ForeverRed), but otherwise, bring'em all on.

We are fecking Liverpool.

The bizarre thing is, the last time we got an "easy" draw in the round of 16, we ended up losing to Benfica. When we drew Barca the next season, and then Inter last year, no problem. :D

I'd obviously like to see us get the easiest path to progress, but I wouldn't mind seeing us get Real Madrid. They're really the only worldwide "glamour" team we haven't played in Europe under Benitez (other than the Mancs, who we can't draw at this point). We've already played, and beaten AC Milan, Inter, Juve, Barca, Arsenal, Chelsea, etc. Would be fun to see.

Hmmmmmmmm.......I note with a wry smile that Liverpool must face a second place side from the other groups, have country protection, cannot face Atletico Madrid and that Mourinho's Inter finished second in their group.

I'm in as well. I also agree that all the teams who have got this far are going to be tough. But look, we've done Barca, Inter, Milan and most of the others before one after the other. So, I don't give a shit who they are, we have a harder time with the lessor players than we do with the top ones.

So to quote a great president "Bring 'em om!"

I'm confident Bayern will top their group, Lyon are dealing with a bunch of injuries and Bayern have been in great form as of late. Klinsmann has the team clicking very well offensively.

I'd like to avoid Madrid because anything can happen under Ramos. Inter is weak but they have Mourinho (who I still think is a fantastic coach for a club competeing in the CL). That said give me a Sporting and I'll be happy.

We are thinking about the same Mourinho. The same one that never won, let alone made the final, with a loaded Chelsea squad. Granted he did win it with Porto, but still.

Madrid has so many injuries. I just don't see them having what it takes, but I suppose we will all get a good luck at them tomorrow when they take on Zenit. They also have a Christmas Break, so they will be able to recover some of their players that have niggling injuries and knocks.

Remember the last time we were backed to go through (against Benfica)? Beware of easy draws.

Okay, so with country and group protection, we cannot play Arsenal, Chelsea, or Atletico.

We are eligible to play Real Madrid, Villarreal, Lyon, Inter Milan, or Sporting.

Who would you like to see now that all the groups are set?

I wouldn't mind seeing Lyon or Sporting drawn with us, but it wouldn't be the end of the world to get Inter or Real.

As I mentioned yesterday we are going to get a very difficult draw as a reward for winning our Group (yeah the reward is Leg 2 at Home - I know I know).

Who would I like to get - Sporting or Lyon.

For TV purposes - Real Madrid
