Good for him he is a good manager and I think he would have done well here if he would have been able to speak the language.

Not official yet but if he does take the post that is something to be very proud of.

Nice find Hauler. I'd imagine that this means Levy needs to pay less severence for Ramos as well. Best of luck to Ramos ... now this makes the Huntelaar purchase a bit questionable as surely Spanish-Ramos isn't going to be communicating with them in German like Schuster. If Ramos lasts through the summer (always a big 'if' at Real Madrid), I'd imagine he'll be thinning out that Dutch contingent ... and if I were Levy I'd be quite interested.
I wonder how Huntelaar feels about this development ... probably pretty uneasy I'd imagine.

Im sure his Pockets are well Cushioned enough to take this:D
That said, i cant imagine "The Hunter" going to Spain, to play for one of the most prestigious Spanish clubs, and not either speaking a tiny bit of spanish, or planning on investing on some lessons or a teacher.

I guess we were not a big enough club for Ramos.......( sarcasm )

I have no ill will for Real Madrid, but they have completely lost the plot over there. Schuster was never the problem (though he might be part of the problem) and Ramos is no suitable solution. If crisis in Madrid can save Spurs some money though, then I am all for it.

too true. the real problems at madrid are above pitch- or locker room-level.
... not unlike another club i know.

the parallel is striking is it not? Backroom drama, coaching changes, high profile buys, and marked underachievement. Oh, and white shirts.

Maybe Juande would be willing to loan us some players at some point in time if he does well. Wesley, De La Red, Marcelo, and maybe some others he feels need to take some time off. I would love that.

He is a top class coach and will do well there. Good luck to him.

LOL I don't know what makes less sense...that Ramos would ever loan us someone, or that someone like Sneijder or Marcelo would ever get loaned out. De la Red will be lucky if he ever plays again.

I've always liked you spurs fans. No ill will towards a coach you fellas fired. Good on all of you.
But pour the hate on those gooners. They probably deserve it too. Good luck with the rest of the season. I'm sure you'll finish in the top ten if not higher. Uncle 'arry has got everything under control. :)

He's a good coach, but the language barrier would never have allowed him much more success at Spurs...good luck to him, but I think RM is a pretty unmanageable team as it is. :)

I wish Ramos well in his new post... not an easy one but given time he could do well there. I couldn't help but laugh though when he mentioned in the press conference that the important thing is to work on the players' state of mind. He didn't do much for our players' state of mind (this season in particular) as 'Arry has shown. :D

Well now that it's official, I guess I'll speculate a tad more.
As many have mentioned Ramos is a good coach and that isn't really questioned. His problem was that he didn't use his greatest gift--communication. In Spain he will be speaking his native tongue and be able to have everything to his liking. His only draw back is that all of the players know that he isn't as powerful as the players themselves, so keeping them all interested will be a challenge for him. Personally, I think we'll see him do quite well as the players will most definitely be fighting for their place in the starting lineup, and even for their places at the club at all.
There seems to always be a power struggle at Madrid, and it usually involves the top management winning and the fans losing. If that holds true to form, then Ramos will not last past the summer. But, if the club back him and let him remake the team in his style, I think they will be successful. It would mean the days of Schuster's Dutch Dream Team are over though.
As for Sneijder, he'd cost quite a bit, but would be a nice addition. I doubt Harry wants to invest heavily for a non-British midfielder though ... just my opinion. I do think that Ramos might be looking to acquire Dos Santos though, and that just might give us the leverage to acquire someone like Sneijder at a more reasonable price. The problem with this is that Barca would be extremely upset with us shuttling their prodigy off to Madrid only a year later, and I don't think Levy would want to burn that bridge, although he does still regard Ramos highly as a coach and person, so who knows. My bet would be that Ramos plucks Capel from Sevilla.
Players like Roysten Drenthe might be moved on at a reasonable price though.
As for Huntelaar, I don't know how far progressed his Spanish is, but I definitely think Ramos will try to bring in Spanish strikers, with someone like David Villa being his top target if Ramos survives the summer culling. Personally, I think Villa and Huntelaar would be a great tandem. But, there's a real possibility that Huntelaar will play this year and then be shelved next season if Ramos stays at the helm. Meaning that by the summer of 2010, he may be looking for an exit. It's a long ways off and a lot of speculation in between, but hey, it's a theory. ;)

Nothing is ever good enough for them. They even sacked Del Bosque who won everything and completely dominated European football. Apparently he didnt play enough attacking players in his lineups.
Sacked jupp heynckes after he won the champions league. Sacked Capello after he won the league. Sacked raddy antic who had a record start to the season with consecutive wins .He didnt play with enough style so they sacked him half way into the season.

Looks like Marca reckon Ramos will sign Zokora! Talk about sealing legend status, beating the scum 5-1-, winning a cup and then signing one of our more mediocre players.

Good luck to him, his first league game couldn't be any bigger.
