I saw FSW's commercial for the UEFA cup matches a few nights ago. And despite the usual interesting usage of the English language, ("Porto's win over Celtic in last year's final inspired teams throughout Europe"???) I noticed something peculiar. At the end of the spot the voice over says, "Fox Sports World, the only place to see the UEFA Cup in America" or something to that extent. Basically they claim exclusivity for the UEFA cup, but GOLTV is showing UEFA Cup matches as well. Is this just an oversight? Does FSW have exclusivity after a certain round or something? This seems like something that could get them into trouble. That would be like CBS saying they are the only place to see NFL action when both Fox and ABC own rights as well.

FSW can and almost certainly will buy the rights to at least one UEFA Cup match each match day, either from Setanta or a game whose rights Setanta has NOT bought. Setanta will likely carry the semifinals exclusively, and will have live coverage of the final. FSW MAY be able to get DELAYED rights to the UEFA Cup final.

FOX Sports Int'l buys rights to UEFA Cup matches
from either Octagon CSI (Manchester City) or Media Pro (Barcelona).

Setanta Sport bought rights to all UEFA Cup matches controlled by SportFive (over 80% of the matches), including the final.

Gol TV sublicenses UEFA Cup matches from Setanta Sport.

Note that each club designates a marketing agency to sell the rights to its UEFA Cup home games through the semifinal round.

This is all good, but no one has addressed my point, which is that FSW is "kinda" claiming exclusivity in their promotions, but they don't really have exclusivity. If I was GOLTV that would sorta piss me off.
