Fox Sports World should hire Jack Edwards to call games. He would fit in with the rest of the announcers since they all have that excitement and passion for the game. I think FSW would be the best place for him to go.

Doesn't he already work for the FoxSports regional channel in Chicago?

I think he and Ty had some chemistry issues and his USMNT calls weren't the best, so he was let go. The fact that JP Dellacamera did the 2002 MLS Cup was a hint of this.

Jack does evidently do Chicago Fire games and may occasionally have a role on Blackhawks telecasts. It remains to be seen whether CSN Chicago will hire him next year.

Jack is the voice of the NHL HD broadcasts. Anything else he does now must fit around that schedule. I believe he's even given up the bashos on espn2.

Fox Sports Chicago does not employ Jack Edwards. The Chicago Fire does. If the Fire move to Comcast Sportsnet Chicago, and he remains with the Fire, he'd go with them.

I have no idea if he can/will be retained for next season because he has many conflicts early and late in the year with NHL HD.

I believe that Jack plans to continue with the Fire - at least the games that don't conflict. I believe Kenn Tomasch's plans to find away to inflict Jack with a summer long case of laryngitis.

Jack Edwards has been a "freelancer" ever since he left ESPN.

He has done a variety of games for CSTV.

He also does sports business reports for CNBC Europe's "Money and Sport" program. Some of those reports also appear on CNBC US "Business Center".

ESPN's contract probably expired and they did not bother renewing it. Just insert World Series of Poker or NFL Films and ESPN is set financially in that timeslot.

But Jack's primary job is the NHL for HDNet, plus the freelance stuff for CSTV, CNBC, and the Chicago Fire games. If Glenn Davis left HDNet, Jack would do MLS games for them too.

That would be a big backward step were it to happen

Imo, Jack Edwards is a very annoying soccer announcer. His play-by-play is the same for soccer and hockey. What is good for hockey is BAD for soccer - ie too much talking. Jack needs to take a lesson in moderation and restraint from the EPL announcers. I miss Mike Hill and Eddie Mighten.
