Reminds me of Cleveland Browns fans - team get moved, but they support the new one immediately.

If baseball fans would go support their local minor league team, maybe I wouldn't have to hear about the strike every five minutes.

Every club in that division should pretty much shatter their attendance records this season.

As for Kingstonian, also mentioned in that article, they are currently suspended from playing football due to their financial situation.

Exactly Brian, I thought I'd shed a little light elsewhere too. I have the ultimate respect for DiLivio as well. You could be cynical and say he's near the end of his career and slowing down, but the man was with the Azzurri a few months ago. He could have easily gone to a different Serie A team and probably made ten times as much, but he felt he owed it to the fans in Firenze to keep playing. Wish he would have given Jason Giambi a call last season!

AFCA, you are dead on. Ultimately, it is the fans that matter. At its most basic level, professional soccer is entertainment. Volumes have been written on how the sport transcends this status, but all too often today, fans are underappreciated. I'm not saying that business is evil - I'm thrilled to watch my favorite teams abroad from the US (they probably wouldn't have been my favorite teams without the business side ;) ) With the current financial imbroglio, though, it seems like a good time for supporters of clubs to follow Wimbledon and Fiorentina's lead and let it be known that none of this would be possible without them.
