Its good to have dreams.

Regardless of who we slot into our sloppy 4-4-2, I want to see Scholes get 20mins.

Well, Keano's resignation certainly makes things interesting, if nothing else.

hopefully DS's line-up is the one we'll go with... that's some hot stuff right there.

How many is it now that we play a team who just got a manager resigned/fired?

I remember West Ham, Bolton, Newcastle just off the top of my head.

It will be nice to see 'that' formation being used... we be delighted if SAF do so.

hopefully Ricky Sbragia won't feel any ill will towards us. i don't want a repeat of that West Ham match from a couple years ago when Curbishley took over.

Why the fcuk can't managers resign/get sacked the match after we play them? This is like the 4th time in 3 years we've had the first game after someone got sacked. FFS!

Coaches always ********ing quite before they play us

I had hope for a close victory before Keano left - now that he's gone, I'd like to see them put to the sword. Strongest lineup, let's get it.

The last two games that I remember were us beating Chelsea 2-0 and then beating Newcastle 6-0.

Scholes is not playing against Sunderland. will probably see most of his action in Japan.

Fletcher may see some time even after feeling his hamstring in the derby.

also...

"Carlos, without question has given me a big selection problem," said Sir Alex. "I’ve been doodling on my pad the last couple of days, trying to see how I can fit all these players in, but one of the important ingredients of your team is to have a proper balance. It was a fantastic performance of energy, aggression and running, I admire him for that, and it doesn’t make my job any easier."

"It’s obvious that he doesn’t enjoy it, he wants to play," he said. "Do I want players who don’t enjoy being left out, or do I want players who are quite happy sitting in the stand? I’ve got to manage that myself as best I can.

"He wants to play, I can understand that. I want to pick a team that wins, and I want to be as fair as I can in doing that. Performance does matter, and his performance on Wednesday gives me a big problem."

Playing a 4-2-3-1 will be a hell of a lot easier once scholes is back to match fitness... Having carrick and scholes in the 2 means everyone can play in a position that best suits them, where as anderson, fletcher and co arent at their best in that system.

Obviously we want Scholes back, but Carrick and Fletcher seemed to run the 4231 all right against Roma to the tune of 7-1. Arguably it could be even better now - Fletch has improved since then and Berba > Smith.
