Good idea :)
I'm Scott, 32, live in Dallas but travel to NYC, DC, Boston areas about 20+ weeks a year. I watch my Man Utd games at Trinity Hall in Dallas (www.trinityhall.tv). Play outdoor, marathon-runner, no indoor though - too many sprains (learned my lesson there lol).
I have lots of my "interests" and pics on my website - www.whigham.org
PS - MM - where is Frederick? Is that close to Rockville? I work in Rockville a few weeks out of the year...

I am a 36 year old accountant. I coach U-10 soccer, we went undefeated last fall, and 3rd grade basketball. I live about 10 miles south of Cincinnati, OH. in Northern KY.
I discovered Man. Utd. when our local Fox station had a friday night EPL review show. I thought Eric Cantona was the greatest athlete I had ever seen.
I quickly got Directv so I could watch matches on FSWLD. The rest is history. I have to watch matches on PPV or FSWLD. I do not think there is a pub in this area which shows EPL. Everything around here is German.

I'm Eric. I'm 31, live in Stamford, CT (45 mins from NYC). Played soccer all my life up until recently (work is keeping me too busy). Love the game. Watch as much of it as I can. I hadn't really been too familiar with the English game until I bought the ManU 96/97 season review back in 97. Saw Beckham's half-length goal, saw Cantona and I loved the team. Supported them ever since. Saw the famous treble victory on tv in a department store's electronic section in Guadalajara, Mexico (long story). Unbelievable moment... Go United!

Hi folks,
I'm Yajur, 22 years old, just graduated from the University of Illinois and am stuck in the real world. I played soccer from the time I was about 5 years old, but stopped playing right before high school. When I started using the internet, it allowed me to follow soccer a bit, but not a huge amount. I learned about Beckham and United a bit during the 1998 World Cup, and it got me interested in the team. Saw a clip of the CL win in 1999 on Sportscenter, and I knew it was something incredible there from the reaction of the players and fans. From seeing them play even a little bit, I knew they were a great team to watch and follow. When I got to college, my roommate was a huge soccer fan, and I also got back to playing, intramural this time. I continued to follow United, but its definitely gone to a new level since I visited Old Trafford last summer (no match, alas).
I'll watch the matches either at home, or at Curragh Pub in Schaumburg, IL, or Ginger's Ale House a few blocks from Wrigley Field. :)

I know it has been awhile since I posted, so I figure this would be a good place to start.
My name is Scott. I'm 30 and live in Espanola, NM (45 mins North of Santa Fe). Played soccer in my younger days. Coached girls varsity soccer for a couple of years. Just love the game. Like Fatsnbul, discovered Man United watching a replay of a game on FSW-Espanol. Try to watch as many matches as I can, but with a new baby at home, that has been kinda of hard. Hopefully when she is older, we can both get up early and watch the games. Have some recorded games that we watch together and she justs loves following the colors on the TV.

I'm Billy (shock!), live in Dublin (shock!) and am 17, still in secondary (high) school. I have been a ManU fan ever since 1990 when I was 4 years old and ManU were on a roll in the FA Cup (what a gloryhunter!;)). I used to play on a team - got trials for Shelbourne - mostly in defense and as the #3 emergency keeper. Nowadays, I just play for fun with friends, occasionally.

My name is Jeff. I'm 31 and live in Parker, CO (basically a southeast suburb of Denver). I do civil and electrical engineering (let the geek jokes begin). I played college ball and still currently play in a men's open leauge - a training session during the week and a game on sunday type of thing. Had been a coach the last five years until the recent birth of my little "wanker".
I have always been an "outside" fan of ManU. Not having any access to actually watch them until the last two years or so, I felt like a bandwagon jumper if I made the claim that I was diehard ManU. This is why you don't see the devils posted amongst my favorite teams under my call-name. When I feel like I've suffered through some more of the possible lows with ManU, then I will proudly add them next to my name as a favorite (I just don't want to be a fairweather type of fan).

I'm Mark, live in Austin, TX, where the nearest major soccer team is in Dallas (puke!). I'm a 2nd year law student at the University of Texas. And if you are a lawyer with a summer clerkship available, please let our shared love of Man Utd unfairly bias you in my favor :D.
I started rooting for Man Utd in college, in Boston, in 1998. We had a lot of foreign exchange students, and one was a Swedish guy wo hung out with our crowd. But he was absolutely obsessed with Arsenal. It was really annoying. So, just to annoy him, I started rooting for Man Utd... but in a kind of tentative fashion. You know, I wanted them to win, and checked scores now and then, but didn't really care all that much.
I then got CM 01/02 a couple years ago, and loved it. Then I got FSW soon after, started watching games, and the rest is history.
EDIT: Playing history - Played since I was 4, settled into my natural position of keeper about 12. Played for my high school team pretty well, though I had to split time with a guy who was taller and more athletic but wasn't as good instinctually or technically. I played intramural in college, but haven't found a good team to play for lately.

I'm Steve, 26, live in Washington DC. Motterman I think i used to watch games with you at the Cap Lounge and saw you in the beer line at the New York Summer tour game? I work for a Congressman from Illinois and actually turned him from a soccer hater into a guy that is interested in the game. I also went to the University of Illinois. I played since I was 4 through high school and could have played for some NAIA schools but figured better get a good education :) I have followed United for quite a long time as I wanted to start following a team when I was young they were the only one I could get info on so learned up on them and started watching and the rest is history.....

I'm Jeff, 40 and live just north of San Diego. As a ballboy for the LA Aztecs I met George Best and became a Utd fan on the spot. Played in HS, college (DIII) and still play in the Over 30's every Sunday. Coached at the Club, HS, ODP level and did a bit of broadcasting with our A-League team and a weekly soccer talk show. Have season tix for the Galaxy and watch my beloved Red Devils at the Shakespeare or Princess Pubs. I too, have an infant daughter (missed the game in LA v. America to be at the hospital), so many a Saturday morning her mother can find the two of us watching FSW downstairs. My company builds sports facilities, including the 17-field 52 acre soccer complex in San Bernardino. I guess its in my blood now. From Whiteside to Robson to Cantona and now these lads, I love them all!

Shockingly, my name is Kevin. I'm 32.
I grew up in Potomac, MD (near Rockville) but live in Arlington, VA now. I'm attorney but one of the good kind because I work on issues related to the First Amendment, mainly with newspapers and Internet content providers for a small firm on Dupont Circle in DC (sorry, we're too small to hire summer help).
I've played all my life, first for a club team in the Bethesda soccer club, then into college (James Madison Univ.) and am on two men's teams right now. One plays on a more recreational level in the Montgomery County (MD) league, division 1 (another shock, our name is Gildar). My other team is called Ireland's 4 Courts, sponsored by a bar that is in Arlington (right across the street from the famous -- or infamous -- Summers). We've just moved up to the Premier League of the Northern Virginia Soccer League.
I'm also a referee, grade 7, with about 20 more adult games and my required assessments to get to State Level. I mainly referee youth games for MSI, often at the MD Soccerplex in Germantown. I also ref weeknights for the Arlington Coed league and some women's league games on Saturdays. Playing on two Sunday teams limits me in that regard.
I became a United fan through a coach I had when I was growing up who was from England. He used to have videotapes shipped over from friends back home to use as examples for our team. A lot were Manchester United tapes. This was the mid-to-late 80s. I was also a big fan of Gordon Strachan during the 1986 World Cup. Finally, my coach gave my dad a copy of "The Day a Team Died", and after reading about the plane disaster and the rebuilding of the club, I was hooked. So it's been a good 15 years now. I've been to Old Trafford, thereby fending off the last of any harangues I'd get from any folks who say I'm one of those glory hunters from afar. I've also got DirecTV and Tivo, which allows me to watch pretty much every EPL game, though I've had some trouble between work and reffing and admit I've only seen 1/2 of this years' CL campaign so far.
If you ever see me at the fields, watching games or at a DCU game (I go to a few every season), I'm the one with a tattoo of the Manchester United crest that is about 4 inches big and on the outside of my left calf.
Oh, and I hate to admit this, but my roommate, also from Maryland, is a big Liverpool fan, which makes things very interesting. He had to go to the hospital to get 8 stitches in his head after suffering a wound while watching the match vs. Liverpool earlier this season. I had nothing to do with it though.

I wasn't going to post anything, but I saw the 40 year old guy respond, so I might as well.
Name is Dennis, age 53, saw United for the first time in 1960 in St. Louis, against the CYC All-Stars.
I really became hard-core in the Cantona era, when we could start getting some hi-lite recaps on the regional sports channel. Thank God for the small satellite dish, now I barely miss a game.
Last year I made a dream trip to Old Trafford and spent a day at Carrington. I urge everyone to visit the shrine if possible.
Althought I don't post much, I really enjoy reading the comments from you all, and I enjoy the fact that there doesn't seem to be much snottyness on the board, but maybe I don't read enough. Go Reds and long live SAF.
