Greetings,

I'm Steve, 32 y/o, moved to Chicago this past July. I'm a college soccer coach/professor at an NAIA school. I'm currently in season, reading the posts late at night is a nice break from "work" (I get paid to be around soccer all day...life is good)!

Have been a ManU fan since college (early 90's) when one of my teammates brought over a Leeds-ManU game. Saw Schmeicel, Cantona, Ince...hooked for life!

My name is Tom and I am 26. I live in Chicago and don't particularly care for my job. But it pays the bills as they say. I have been a Manchester United fan since the mid to late 90's. Unfortunately I can't post much right as I have to get some TPS reports done.

Live in Nairobi, capital city. I've been a United fan since I knew what a football was.
I'm doing my British A-Levels, after which I hope to go to UMIST!!!

Good luck!

My name is Rob, I'm 39 and also live in Chicago. I became a supporter back in the early 80s. My grandfathers are from Belfast and Glasgow and they got me interested in the team. The first game I remember watching on tv was the FA Cup final against Brighton, back when ESPN had those games. I've been to Old Trafford several times and have enjoyed my trips there. I work in the IT world as a Business Analyst. But I'm in the process of making career change to a non-profit. I'm going to be working for Missionary Atheltes International. They are the parent organization of the Charlotte Eagles. It will let me combine two passions, soccer and my faith.

The Collyers, originators of Championship Manager, have kindly said that that game and my later Mexico 86 (international management) inspired them to write CM. If you want something less pretty and big but with greater realism and depth then you should look out for my Sick as a Parrot which has been described as "The thinking fans soccer management game". It's hard work but worth it in the end.

Interesting. Where can we find it?

Jaris, 23 year-old recent graduate of Morehouse College in Atl, Ga. Currently an unemployed bigsoccer addict.

I can't remember how I became a United fan it just kind of happened. I do remember watching the 99 CL final and rooting for Man U so It was probably before then. Really got hooked this past season with the signing of Tim Howard and finally getting FSW.

I am a 94 world cup convert to the game. Since then have watched as much soccer as possible on TV or the Internet.

I never seriously played soccer in my life, so I suck at it, but enjoy to play for fun every so often. My friends all wonder how I got addicted to soccer and are annoyed to see bigsoccer on their computers.

Oh and for some reason most of the people I meet and discuss soccer with are ABU's or Arsenal fans!! go figure ;)

More typical Arsebandit trolling. That would have edited had I posted it on the Arseholes forum!

Coach is being sarcastic. After you are here for awhile you will get to know the "good" posters from the "bad". Trust me, Coach is harmless. :D

Sometimes poster, frequent reader.

I'm Evan, 25, grad student in history at UC Irvine. Played when I was a kid, but didn't realy get back into watching soccer until WC 2002. First started caring about Man Utd when my friend and I would play FIFA Soccer on the Genesis when I was a kid. First time we played, I saw that this Manchester United team was really good, and they had a guy named Cantona that was great. It all started there...

BTW, if you're interested in a Man Utd biased blog, check mine out at http://incadenza.typepad.com/soccer_thoughts/

Irvine, eh?

I lived in Lake Forest for a couple of years. Caught the matches at the British and Dominion Social Club in Garden Grove - http://www.britclub.org/football/scheds.html - http://www.britishdominionsocialclub.org/ - I highly recommend these places to watch all the games.

Cheers.

That's actually closer to where I live than Irvine, but the $10 admission is just too dear. I could always shell out the money for a membership, and then pay the reduced rate.

But you're right, it is a great place to go.

Absolutely. Thanks again to Johno for starting it. I gave it a 5-star rating.
