lol bent and bendy are nothing alike
bent doesnt lead the line, he is a pacey striker that plays on the shoulder, hes more like ade than bendy
and bendy is worse a finisher but a better player

I dont think Bendtner likes playing at the Emirates...
im reading that their were some that were booing him yesterday too (I did hear the RVP chant)
They were on him from the first missed chance. I fully understand the frustration. It is frustrating to watch myself, but the Emirates crowd has been pretty disgraceful over the past 2 months.

I didn't hear any booing, but I did hear the RVP chant. But I think the crowd quickly realised that they had to get behind him and started doing the Super Nick chant instead, even after he kept missing. Then when he came off he got a nice applause. They realised that he did have a good game and did a lot of great work, but he just couldn't finish. And despite that he kept his head up and continued to work to get the goal. I thought that was nice to see.

Just in to say I have faith in Bendtner. Gets in great positions, shows a good work ethic on the pitch. Unfortunately, his finishing is VERY inconsistent from game to game, but dude's 20 years old and this is his first season consistently getting major minutes. If he's still like this in 2 seasons, he's gotta go, but as it stands he's really 4th choice striker, which is really pretty good compared with the other big teams (Kalou/Di Santo, Ngog, Welbeck, Delfuenso).

I don't like Chelsea but I like Kalou. I'm still bummed he wasn't able to get dutch citizenship to play for the national team. In fact didn't he say he was keen on a transfer to Arsenal?

Multiple times, and Kolo and Eboue also want it. Can't see it happening, personally

Yeah because of the £££'s that Chelsea would want. Abramovic is feeling the recession pretty hard.

Why are the two issues getting mixed up?
1) Bendtner was atrocious in his finishing against Blackburn.
2) He is young, has demonstrated lots of potential and might well develop the required composure and skills to become a world class striker in the years to come.

lets think about this with Bendtner...
Bendtner has 11 goals this season in all comps... Agbonlahor has 11 goals this season in all comps
Bendntner has played 7 less games and has even less starts...
Agbonlahor = promising player to many
Bendtner = shit to many
*and when I say 'to many,' I dont mean this board*

Compare their production in Premier League games, it goes heavily into Agbonlahor's favor.

thats fair... but that can go back to Bendntner not starting or playing as much as Gabby... in the end it doesnt even matter...
we have also not had our best midfield to provide Bendtner or the forwards with service, consistently, while the opposite is true for Gabby
but Bendtner would never make it at Arsenal, while some would rather have Gabby
and Agbonlahor was crap today for Villa

Yeah, he got booed off the pitch today. So Terp, would you rather have Gabby in our squad over Bendtner or are you just being an antagonist?

I don't happen to think Agonlahor is all that great of a player. Not bad, but mostly just an athlete who can score a few goals. Young is the one I rate by far the most as he has far more footballing skill.
I don't think Bendtner is good enough for this club. People keep talking about how bad his finishing is... and it is, but a base reason for so much of it is that his touch is very poor. So many times he nearly trips over the ball trying to possess it, doesn't hit it cleanly, kicks it way too far out in front of him... When he gets in these close areas near the goal, his touch is terrible. He may get more composed with age, but I don't expect his natural touch to improve.
Bendtner's build up play is often heralded but it is very much a mixed bag. Just as much as he can set up a nice play, he has a penchant for dribbling into nothing, for taking on a 2nd or 3rd defender and giving the ball away, ruining a chance. In just the last few games, we have seen him countless times try to dribble the ball into the box, screw up a touch, and kick the ball so far in front of him that a defender cleanly disposseses him. His play ranges from that sort of "one man team" approach to the occasional nice turn and flick that he had for... theo? (can't quite remember). I don't think we ever see enough of that good to account for the endless number of attacking moves that he ruins with a poor decision or a poor touch.
He'll be a decent mid-table player for his career - playing at a level where their ambitions can afford his faults to exploit his size and relative athleticism - but I don't think he'll ever be good enough to be a starter at this club.

it is what it is with your view, but his touch was very good yesterday... held up a lot of play to let Nasri, Theo, and Arshavin look great yesterday

ironically, in those games you mentioned, Bendtner was playing out on the wing... their was also not much movement from the other attackers (specifically RVP in Rome, who continued to make the wrong runs)... same thing happens with Theo, but thats forgiven I guess...
we didnt see him dribble into trouble much yesterday because he was playing up top...
its also funny you say he can be a one man team, when he is often one of the most selfless guys on the team

thankfully Wenger disagrees with you...

bendtner is 20 years old, and this is first season getting regular first team football at arsenal. while his finishing has been poor recently, he has shown he is capable and has a lot of potential (see game vs. west brom). we are always going to remember his misses, but i think they are more to lack of composure then lack of technique. he does really well building play up, and offers an aerial threat that we lack (especially with adebayor being out).
i don't really get all the talk about selling him. he is really young, and i think he can come good in the next year or two. we have enough quality strikers (rvp, dudu, adebayor) that we can afford to bring him along and polish his game.

lol at the debate
agbonlahor works best in theos position, his finishing is as bad as bendies and he gets less opps
bendy is a much better striker than gabby and is a good enough player to be backup at arsenal
remember how shit ade was at first? now some of u would eat your dinner off his ass cheeks
terp, u think u have a certain bias against some players constantly prefering flair players over hard workers
would man city be a better side for u to support?
maybe its your android series 3030 programming?

I don't know what else to say. We must not be watching the same game.
There are about 5-10 posters on here that like Nic... and outside of that, including other Arsenal fans I talk to outside of this forum, I've never met anyone that would rate him better than average.
