Correction MIKA is from Armenia
For the second qualifying round Mainz has drawn Keflavik from Iceland, with Mainz hosting the first leg....

If they won´t play total cr*p, they should reach the next round.

Keflavik can be dangerous up in Iceland, so getting a good result in the first leg will be very important. All in all, this should not be a big problem for Mainz.

Isn't that picture what football should really be about? Kids and clowns? :D haha jk that looks nice.
Hopefully, Mainz won't do a Celtic and totally bomb against Keflavik, they shouldn't Icelandic teams are pretty low, around the same as Armenian teams.

Sorry man, but I think you are dead wrong.
Icelandic teams aren't anywhere near as low as Armenian teams and Keflavik is Iceland's "FC Bayern".
Mainz will make it, but it won't be as easy as you think.......

Footyfan is right, i predict around a 2-1 or 3-2 aggregate scoreline in Mainz's favour.
And that clown has really become a bit of a celebrity. I see him on sportschau more or less every single weekend.

Mainz 1-0 up on their tie with IB Keflavik, Benjamin Auer the scorer! :)

It's over! Christof Babatz scores another as Mainz practically books their place in the 1st round of the UEFA Cup with a no-nonsense 2-0 victory over IB Keflavik of Iceland!

They still have to go to Iceland. I'd hardly consider a 2-0 victory meaning the tie is "practically over"........

Yeah .. Iceland is such a football power
Mainz dominated them over almost 90 minutes
Only thing they did wrong was not using all chances otherwise it would be 10:0 or 10:1

Yeah .. Iceland is such a football power
Neither was Sigma Olomouc.....

What the f#ck does that matter? Goals are what count. Or didn't you learn anything from Olomouc???
Only thing they did wrong was not using all chances otherwise it would be 10:0 or 10:1
And if my aunt had balls, she'd be my uncle. What's your f#cking point??
Mainz were at home. If they "dominated" so much, they should have won
5-0. They didn't.
Just like BVB in the past years dude! So many matches we "dominated", but we didn't score and wound up with a draw or a loss. We didn't get any extra points for supposedly "dominating" the f#cking match!!
2-0 in any two-leg matchup is far from over. 3-0 or 4-0 is a different story.
2-0 doesn't suck, but it's far from a tie being "over".
Especially when the next match is at the other guy's home stadium!!
Again, didn't you learn anything from Olomouc???

I agree with Footy that tie is not over yet. Mainz will probably advance, but it is not the safest bet ever. I was looking forward to this game to see some 4, 5 or even 6 goals scored, but I was probably overrating Mainz and underrating Keflavik.

That's exactly what I feel. Mainz will probably advance, but it's not a safe bet and it's far from over.
Getting the first goal in Keflavik will be HUGE if they can do it. If Keflavik get the first goal, "It's on!" :)

If you are addressing me, when I responded to YOUR posting, I did say there's no way it's "practically" over.
"Heya BVB" started talking in "certainties" and I responded to him in kind......
Did I misunderstand something?

You guys can argue about the the fact that practically is the wrong word to use but as a realist, looking at a Bundesliga and an Icelandic team, with the Icelandic team needing to win by 3 goals to go through - i am told by my mind that Mainz are more or less safe.

They only need two goals to take it to penalties. Anything can happen then.
Also, I thought my team were "safe" only needing to score a goal or win by a goal against a Czech team to go through.
Didn't happen.
They are called "upsets". Especially in this great game of ours, ANYTHING can happen.
Right when a big club thinks they've got the job done or their opponent isn't any good because of where that opponent is from is usually when that big club gets their asses kicked.
I'm not saying Mainz are going to lose. On the contrary, I think they will advance.
I just don't think it's a "sure thing" or the job is already done. Keflavik is the "FC Bayern" of that nation. They are going home to be boosted and pushed on by their fans. Mainz had that and only scored two goals. Who's to say Keflavik can't do the exact same thing and take the tie on penalties or even a goal in extra time??
Anyone remember Artemedia over Celtic??
