I'm not a Mainz fan (Although I do like FSV Mainz and love the Mainz fans) or Uwe, but I asked around about the possibility that Borja could join us Cris.

The answer I got from the people I trust the most is that Borja most likely isn't going anywhere.

Even with Mainz having just picked up Bance from Offenbach.

Let's see if that is true.

If it is, I think Mainz will have the best "strike force" in the 2. Liga by far........

It was going to be very tough at home. I know you feel the "lower" teams should get home advantage, but once you reach this stage, it is time to prove you belong there.

I'll be rooting for Mainz. I guess we should all hope Leverkusen has a good Bundesliga match before the meeting with Mainz.

After all, we've seen that Leverkusen can't seem to put together two good matches in a row. :D

I guess you didn't see their victory over Hoffenheim? It's the only one in the second half of the season, but they've got one.

Plus, this is the Mainz thread. They will only meet Leverkusen in the Cup.

Metro, what exactly does Leverkusen being 1-1-3 in the Bundesliga in the second half of the season have to do with Mainz??? ;)

Yes, I brought them up because they are Mainz' next opponent in the German Cup. That's why I kept the Leverkusen talk to their Cup performance.

Borussia Dortmund sign Markus Feulner

[18.03.] Mainz 05 midfielder Markus Feulner has agreed to join Borussia Dortmund this summer.

"We were prepared for this day," said Mainz general manager Christian Heidel.

"As much as we would have wanted to keep him at Mainz, we had to expect this decision."

Did he really say that he'd leave even if Mainz gets promoted? Well, it's his choice (I don't think he'll play together with Hajnal in Dortmund)...

Mainz management knew he would leave. Did you not read Heidel's statement? BVB wasn't the only 1. Liga club to make him an offer.

Well, it's his choice (I don't think he'll play together with Hajnal in Dortmund)...

I don't think he'll be in the starting 11, but he will push Hajnal for that job. I think he will spend his time trying to beat out Hajnal and backing up Kuba.

He'll get a chance to beat out Hajnal. Plus, this allows BVB to either sell Sahin or complete his move to one of the wings or to sweeper to eventually replace Kehl there.

Mainz should not be shocked if people start coming for Bance too. Including us.

Kicker has reported that if Mainz gets past Leverkusen tomorrow night to make the German Cup Final AND they finish third in the 2nd Bundesliga, it would force a change in schedule of the Promotion/Relegation playoffs.

Right now, the Promotion/Relegation playoff matches are scheduled for May 29th and June 1st.

However, the German Cup Final is scheduled for May 30th.

So, if Mainz makes the German Cup Final and finishes third in the 2nd Bundesliga, the first Promotion/Relegation playoff leg would be played on May 27th with the second leg being played on June 2nd.

But of course, for any of this to matter, Mainz would have to upset Bayer Leverkusen in Duesseldorf tomorrow night.

I'm not ashamed to say that even though I know this probably won't happen, I'll be cheering for Mainz tomorrow night.
