I can't think of a more deserving choice. He played a hell of a game, a frigging clinic on dribbling with the ball.

The 3rd Burn player to win it this year. (Despite those halftime shows this week that said Kreis won it for his goal and assist against the Fire when in reality Meola won it that week.)

I can.

Edson Buddle.

2g and 2a in a 4-0 win over the wizards.

not only did he contribute all that, but he was assaulted by the wizards defenders. he had to change jerseys TWICE because of defenders literally shredding them apart. not to mention the elbow uppercut he took to the face from gutierrez.

I guess that the people voting on this thing decided that two goals and an assist are more important when your team is down 1-0 and the assist ties the game up, the first goal puts your team ahead, and the second goal is the all-important insurance goal.

Most of Buddle's efforts came in an all-around bludgeoning by the Crew.

I've been slow to give credit to Chivas. To be honest for a long time I found him to be Temoc Suarez II. But this season he's really answered his critics and come out smokin'. Chivas, this is one skeptic you've won over!

Viva el Chivas!!!!!

Didn't Metro get schooled by the team, Chivas, earlier in the week? Man that's gotta hurt.

Scoring goals against the Wizards hasn't been to difficult of late. They've allowed 15 goals in their last 4 games (including Morelia).

Its official:

Yeah, but did he complete a pass to himself which he then put in the net? I thought not. There's a reason why Chivas is #1 on the MLS hit parade this week. Check it out for yourself.

actually, i think a bigger reason maybe the fact that buddle wasnt even on the list of candidates for POW because he played on sunday night, which is a shame. also had a goal in the midweek game v LA. thats 7pts in 2 games. not too shabby, and would usually earn any other player the honors.

Here's the MLSNet link (http://www.mlsnet.com/content/02/pow0819martinez.html), not that you don't already know.

I'm sure this question has already been asked and answered on this forum, but is Chivas eligible for American citizenship?

I know he was born in Mexico, but has he played for them at the youth national team level?

If I were Bruce, it wouldn't hurt to give him a call and see what he thinks. I know he identifies himself as Mexican, but it'll be a cold day in hell when the Mexican nats play a guy who's only success has been in MLS.

He has stated his dream is to play for El Tri.

If that doesn't come to fruition, whose to say?
