I randomly found this list and thought it would be interesting to post it here. These are active home unbeaten (not winning as the title says) streaks for WCQs. I also added Turks and Caicos at the end just for kicks.

Is this meant to be matches played in their "home" country, or matches where they were designated as the "home" team.

Ok, I miss the topic, but Germany is still undefeated in WCQ away matches in history. Two defeats at home against Portugal in the 80s, and England in 2001. We can expect a draw in Moscow next year, if your statistics are correct.

Australia lost their first home WCQ match in 27 years to China in June this year. The match was already a dead rubber as we had already qualified for the next round, so the coach put out a second/third string team.

Where's Jamaica? They were unbeaten in the 1998 Qualifiers, and went 52 games unbeaten in their national stadium before losing to MExico 2-1.

The topic title says "active" so if Jamaica lost at home recently they shouldn't be listed.

Thanks, where did you get this info from?

Also you missed Iran. We've been undefeated at home WCQs since 2004
Our record since then is 6-2-0.

You need 10 to qualify.

Togo is possibly wrong though (certainly misleading and inconsistent with the inclusion of Turks and Caicos) - the last 2 of those "home" matches were played in Ghana.

Iran never lost a home match before 2001, had we not conceded that stupid goal in the 90th minute against jordan of all teams we would be leading the pack right now. The loss against Jordan is Iran's only official home loss ever.

So if you have russia/ussr in your list then you need to have serbia too.

The have a record of 7-3-0 since then.

Argentina must have a fairly long streak going too.

A day for the soccer history books; Russia lost at home. Germany still undefeated on the road.

they lost to Brazil at home last month.

The funny thing is that we hadn't lost a single game in River Plate's stadium (El Monumental, the national team's home stadium) in over 16 years - since the historic 5-0 loss to Colombia in 1993. Coincidently, the first time they changed the stadium since then was vs. Brazil (we played in Rosario Central's stadium, El Gigante de Arroyito). Go figure.

So technically you could still say we maintain a long undefeated streak in El Monumental, our home stadium. We returned to the stadium today vs. Peru, and sure enough we returned to our winning ways.

Honduras has had a good run at home since that freak 1-0 result against last-place Trinidad and Tobago on 7 October 2001. Since then, I count 4-0 Netherlands Antilles, 2-2 Guatemala, 1-1 Canada, 0-0 Costa Rica, 4-0 Puerto Rico, 2-0 Jamaica, 3-1 Canada, 1-0 Mexico, 3-1 Mexico, 1-0 El Salvador, 4-0 Costa Rica, 4-1 Trinidad and Tobago, and... oops!

Sorry, Honduras, we'll try to beat Costa Rica for you.

Well I don't know about that if it wasn't for an obviously bought referee Portugal would of walked out of Germany with a win and ticket to at least the playoff for France '98 instead of Rui Costa getting a straight red for....coming off the pitch for a substitution:rolleyes: and a German equalizer minutes later.

Some of the other teams have been dropped from that list since it was put up last year. Gabon are gone, Morocco are gone (against Gabon), Uruguay disappeared on Wednesday and so did Denmark. I haven't checked all teams to see how many are left, but these four are definitely out. Stupid of Denmark to snap a 28-year streak against a team like Hungary. Fortunately, it had no effect on our qualification since that was already secured.

soccer is just much more competetive than it used to be that's why these streaks are falling, and crazy new ones are unlikely to emerge.

soon enough Brazil will be knocked off that list.
