Damn, talk about leaving a message for all to read.
Maybe Vergara should dump a couple thousand Saprissa's way for a website.

Thanks dude :), (I edited my post, didn't want to be a show off since I'm a newbie :P), as for el desayuno it was after the game Vs. Santos (first round), I went to Mexico on vacation for a whole month (3 weeks on Guadalajara, 1 on Piedras Negras, 1 day on Monterrey and 1 on Tijuana :P), and so I went as press and since I know Vergara from the inaguration of the Home Depot Center he invited me a desayunar to talk about Chivas USA.
Quite a turnaround from the last couple years...is Medford the next NT coach?

Saprissa is riding a 30 game unbeaten streak.. they are 3 games away of setting a new record. This tournament they have gone 16-2-0 and tied the record for the best start of a tournament. Yesturday Saprissa beat Alajuela for the very first time in nearly 4 year.. score 4-1
The magic number to clinch the Apertura Tournament is 3 pts and there are still 6 or so games left.

And they are using all Costa Rican players. Their coach is former Costa Rica international Hernan Medford and it looks like he is doing a great job.
I don't think their lineup is much different than it's been the last couple years...and they lost Jose Cancela, who looked good in MLS. I guess the big difference is that Alvaro Saborio (we'll see him at Olympic qualifying) has gone from a nobody to the league's leading scorer in the past two years, and Alonso Solis is also having a big season.
Or maybe Vergara is bribing all the refs and opponents.

The line up is quite different from previous years. Lonnis is gone, Try Benneth returned, Gerald Drummond returned, Alonson Solis returned, Reynaldo Parks is out injured and some guys from the youth program which are playing regularly this season.
THE main reason why the team improved is because now they are getting paid, the dont spend months without seeing a single colon and the government is not trying to take away the grounds and stadium to cover interests and other debts Saprissa used to have. No payment = No motivation.
Also Medford turned out to be a pretty good head coach to the surprise of many!! Including me.

I'm watching a replay of that Alajuela match right now on FSE. This match had everything. There was a free-kick goal from a good distance, a shot deflected on the goal line by a defender's jump kick, and a brawl. Before reading this board, I figured Alajuela must be one of the bottom teams in the league from watching the match.

One of the main problems in the Costa Rican league, it's always either Alajuelense kicking everybody'ass, or Saprissa raping everybody, with Heredia and Cartagines making seldom apperances, now that Saprissa's on top, Alajuelense's going downhill, there's absolutely no excitement, and it could hurt Saprissa in the end, they could face the same problem Alajuelense had for the past 4 years, they had it so easy in the national league, that when it came to the CONCACAF Champion's Cup they always got their ass kicked('cept for '99 of course). Saprissa's showing a lot of quality though, Alonso Solis and Saborio are proving to be top quality players.
