After LA kicks butt, the Wizards caravan crosses the country yet again and pulls into ceeseland. It's scenic Milwaukee for a Saturday USOC tilt.
For those traveling there, schedule some time to go to the local beach. The beach (I forget the name) is, by far, the single best place to be in the city during the summer. Think local honies, volleyball, and boating. Make sure you pick up some shells off the sand, maybe even make some time for a bit of challenge court sand volleyball. If you're good you can get up to the big-boy courts close to the concessions. Ask around and maybe someone will tell you about the bar with the secret entrance. Another suggestion would be to stop by the Northwestern Mutual home office and ask the workers where the crazy insurance agents go to party when they come to town for the annual meeting. (Basically find a bar around the MECCA, and you'll be fine.) If it's a weekend during the summer, you can bet there will be an ethnic-fest of some type downtown also. Think beer gardens and good fatty food. God bless Wisconsin!
Back to soccer: Milwaukee has been a tough place to play this season as the Rampage are 10-1-2 at home in games that matter. The good news on that front is that thier last two home results have been ties.
The Rampage are 1-2 in their last three starts, losing to Seattle and Vancouver out West before beating Cincinatti 2-0 on the road Sunday night. Milwaukee clinched an A-League playoff birth with the win. Like KC, Milwaukee also has a Wednesday night game.
