Alot of this will come across as whining, but I can't help but feel a little sorry for him. He's a class player and I think deserves at least a little bit more playing time.

for a man who continually states that he doesn't want to complain he seems to complain alot. the guy was damn good, but his time as an impact player at liverpool is clearly over(if it ever started, that is).

He deserved better..... GH just went after him cause of the free transfer tag.
Too bad.... Jari is world class.... personally I think he would be better suited for Heskey's role.

Well, we went for him because he was available. I would have been more disappointed if we hadn't got him in the first place (a la Roy Evans in 1997).
He just didn't suit the system. The irony is of course that this season we will open up a bit and he stood a good chance of getting some action. But now he's blown it for himself, I would think. Previous evidence suggests that if these quotes prove to be true and attributable, then he will be out of the door sooner rather than later.
His own silly fault then. Shame or no shame about his use up until this point.

Whether right or wrong, he's definitely blown it now. He could have looked back and used Titi as an example of how NOT to approach this situation.

Gerard Houllier today -
"The atmosphere is good here. Provided a player's attitude is right then there is no problem, he will be given a chance," he said.
"But if it's not right then their performance will mirror their attitude. What I don't tolerate is people sulking and people chipping away.
"If that happens I can be extremely ruthless and nasty because I am the protector of the team and of the club. If there is a cancer it has to be eradicated immediately,"

Matt Clark quotes Houllier above; this article:
http://icliverpool.icnetwork.co.uk/0500liverpoolfc/0100news/page.cfm?objectid=12134618&method=full&siteid=50061
expands on GH’s thoughts and talks of a possible Jari transfer to Spurs.
The article seems to me to imply a link between GH’s remarks and Jari’s impending exit.
Jari and Berger (to Celtic?) on their way out; Wright and Barmby already gone. The coffers are filling with transfer cash . . . van der Vaart, anyone?
