Hey guys, i was wondering what you all think about Viana saying he wants to go play for another club because without first team football he won't play for Portugal.
I really haven't seen any of his games for newcastle, but i hear he is in piss poor shape. real shame, maybe another year in portugal would have been better..
hey! maybe he can be loaned back to sporting to develop...or benfica :

Can't really tell what he wants. The media come out with claims about he is unhappy but no solid quotes or statements. The club has stayed quiet about it so there is not much to say.

Hugo is a problem for Newcastle. He doesn't play very often and when he does it is usually out of what he regards as his best position. He tends to be selected for wide left midfield when he prefers central.
When I have seen him play in central midfield, while he has good qualities (e.g. reading of game, accurace of passes) he is simply too slow and weak on the ball to make an impression.
I agree that he needs more time to develop, in an easier atmosphere than the English leagues.
I think that Newcastle should retain him as a player, but loan him out for a year or so to help him develop.

well, looks like he is going back to portugal on loan so that he at least plays.
best option in my opinion. he'll get confidence back, gain more experience, and then newcastle can have him back improved (or he fails miserably...)
