Chivas name (provided in SD)?

If the team is located in San Diego, what should the team be named?

In order to honor its latino roots Club Deportivo seems like a nice idea-- and then in the logo or crest on the shirt you could have a goat. No matter what they do---i think they should have a "chiva" mascot--kinda like the one that appears in the chivas games in mexico---with that big goofy yet cute smile!!

What should be the colors? Should they stick with a variant of the mexican league red and white stripe shirts or go with a different uniform altogether?

It's Naval (so's a freaking lot of San Diego)

San Diego Chivas comes second (or Chivas de San Diego, I don't really care). I mean, it's Vergara's club. I don't have any problem with it.

Club Deportivo San Diego is only good if the people of San Diego then come up with their own nickname, like, um. . . say "Chivas". Cuz otherwise, you end up with the "San Diego Sports Club" which sounds like a gym to english-speaking ears.

No FC. No "Sockers" (you might as well just get it over with and call them the Ladybugs)

As far as uniforms go, I would stick to either the current Chivas-look OR reverse it and have the stripes be dark blue.

(If I was in charge, though, I'd do something akin to Blackburn's home kit, though. I don't know why I dig that so much)

If they wanted to be classy (which has yet to happen in the MLS), they should leave the same - but replace Guadalajara with San Diego.

I think that would be pretty cool. Considering the lame crest/logos in the MLS, that would show some real style.

Basically San Diego Chivas...just in reverse order....I'd be fine with that.

Seriously, I don't care much, as long as it doesn't have the "USA" in it. That would be another pathetic name....

Anything without "goats" or "chivas" which are the same thing just different languages. Armada would be cool. Especially if they had navy blue as their color for obvious reasons. ;)

I agree, i feel that chivas de san diego is a perfectly acceptable name, people who insist on it being in english can call it the San Diego Chivas.

And yeah, the logo should be more traditional, like a real logo or seal.
