Boca beat them 4-0 at home and then drew 1-1 away with some reserves and mainly youths

I haven't seen Al Ahly play but Liga looked awful in international competition this year. Should be an accessible road to the final for my Pachuca. :)

and just like Boca beat Pachuca...oh wait, you guys lost against the African team, and now that the African team is Al Ahly, I wouldn't be surprised if it's another one and out by Pachuca

I doubt it, we learned our lesson from last year and I'm confident we'll defeat Al Ahly. :)

Looks like Al Ahly got a new club logo in 2007:

With under two weeks to go I've moved some posts to the Ahly-Pachuca match thread.
Elsewhere the AFC has finally assigned all the spots for the re-launch of the AFC Champions League next year:
SHANGHAI: Ten AFC Member Associations have been given direct entry into next year’s revamped AFC Champions League, which will mark the dawn of a new era of professionalism for Asian football.
Japan, Korea Republic, China, Iran and Saudi Arabia will have four clubs in the 32-team competition.
Other Member Associations who have satisfied the entry requirements based on stringent criteria are: United Arab Emirates (three clubs), Australia (two), Uzbekistan (two), Qatar (two) and Indonesia (one).
UAE and Indonesia will also be able to enter one club in the ACL Play-offs, along with one club from India, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. The winners and runners-up of the AFC Cup 2008 will get a berth in the Play-offs.
A condition for the ACL Play-offs is that each club is a commercial entity according to AFC Champions League criteria. Otherwise, they will be invited to play in the second-tier AFC Cup.

I very much doubt that Milan could do that again though. The youth and pace of Boca would show up the Milan retirement home big time. Too many old players are destroying what was once a great team.
Milan are very lucky not to find themselves in the UEFA Champions League this season, this because a team like Chelsea, Liverpool and Barcelona would easily defeat them by at least 3 goals. In a preseason friendly this season Chelsea already crushed them 4 - 0.

Looks like the quality of the OFC team won't increase in the near future...
-- Wellington Phoenix say no to O-League (New Zealand Herald) -- (http://www.nzherald.co.nz/sport/news/article.cfm?c_id=4&objectid=10545731)
The Wellington Phoenix have turned their back on playing in the O-League, preferring to try and gain entry into the Asian Champions League. The Oceania Football Confederation had been poised to step up efforts to allow the Phoenix into next year's O-League but the A-League club responded with a thanks, but no thanks.
"Probably not at this stage," Pignata said when asked if the Phoenix would accept an invitation to play in the O-League. "Fifa closed the door to us on the O-League [this year] so we are focusing on working with the FFA to go through Asia. We are part of the A-League and want to have the same rights the other sides have.
Leaving the very complicated situation of Wellington Phoenix aside, this now means that the OFC won't field a competitive team next year either. For those who don't know, Sepp Blatter said last year (2007) that the OFC has two years to show it belongs. Otherwise the CWC spot might be taken away by FIFA.

Well thats shocking in my opinion. In order to determine a true World Champion every Continent needs to have their say and have a Club participating. It's time that the old senile joke known as Sepp Blatter retired from his position at FIFA, this if he is going to come up with such harsh crap as this.

I find it both incredible and alarming that FIFA continues to demean the OFC. The problem is there for all to see, and needs to be addressed immediately. Oceania cannot stand on it's own as a confederation. I believe it should be integrated into the AFC. Certainly, there would be practical and logistical obstacles to overcome, but surely this is the most viable solution.
Back on topic, I think this year could very well witness the first non-European/South American finalist. I think Pachuca/Ahly have every chance of overcoming LDU; it will be fascinating to see how this side of the draw develops.

Agreed. This can not happen soon enough. I believe all it would take at this point is for New Zealand Football to state that they wan't to follow Australia to the AFC.

Yep, the LDU Quito side of the bracket looks to be the interesting one.
