What a crazy game in the way it was played, conditions of the stadium and weather. As for the game itself it was mediocre and boring, but the Honduran offense is truly what saved me from changing the channel. Even though you guys didn't attack much and don't concrete your chances, you still made a few good shots. Sometimes luck affects a team, like Osorios' own goal tonight. But it's all well, we both passed. Congratulations, your team showed spirit and heart. Vela lost his head, Torrado didn't lose his head but he was clueless.
Things like this happen whenever a player isn't thinking right and is playing an important match. I'm not going to rationalize their behavior but I ask of you not to generalize my team, the Mexican National Team as a classless team. I'm sure you will agree that these things happen from time to time, with every single team in the world, including yours. But in the end, what matters in the end of the day is that the final score was Honduras 1-0 Mexico. We hope to see you again, soon.

To those who brought up the field conditions.Yeah,we know it was bad.But both teams were playing and they both had to deal with it.
And stop with these "Mexis are bad foulers" blah blah blah.As what I saw,Honduras also pulled some pretty crazy tackles. For example, when Marquez slide tackled one of the Honduras player cleanly and was booked for it.The honduras player fell, looked at the ref,and suddenly was in deep pain.
Either way,both advanced.

So if Bora gets fired for failing to qualify Mexico in style, what happens to Sven for almost choking away qualification in the semifinal round?

Player of the Day
David Suazo (HON)
The current Benfica hit-man (formerly of Inter Milan) returned to his beloved Catracho squad with a bang. Hands-down the best player on the field in San Pedro Sula, the striker carved channels down the right side time and again, almost at will. The one they call the Black Panther rained havoc down on some of Mexico's top stars. Rafa Marquez, Andres Guardado and Carlos Salcido were just a few of Suazo's frequent victims. Though he failed to score, the Panther's lightning pace on a wet night served as the spark for Honduras' famous win.
I never knew Suazo was nicknamed the Black Panther.

Congratulations Catrachos. Not the way I wanted to qualify but we're both on to the final hexagonal.

I think he is called "La Pantera Negra" mainly by the Honduran press.

I don't know if I agree with that article, suazo seemed to be the most creative and ambitious, but costly was the smartest, him and his famous left footed scissor, he got a few chances on goal.the wrost miss being the one he coulnt head right. Costly produced dangerous freekicks on numerous occasions and showed his speed.....on another note, we have no one who can head the ball into the net, we need a guy like pavon who was just as good with his leg as his head, thomas missed like 3 headers and like I said before ,costly missed that wide open one, we need to learn to take advantage of our hieght against teams like mexico, speed alone isn't going to beat everyone.

When the draw is made on Saturday, everyone team is going to pray that they get to play Mexico at the Azteca in the first matchday. Without Marquez, Vela, and Osorio, that will be the best chance to get a result in Mexico.

Three more goals? Hahaha Honduras couldn't score 1 in the whole game what makes you think Suazo was going to score 3 in a few minutes? Very bad game for Mexico, they need to get their chet together o vamos a valer madre later on.

Whoa.
That's crazy. And quite embarrasing too. I'd love to see what the mexican press is going to do to him for that.

He understood where the game was heading, I believe this happened before the vela and torrado reds, he also asked the ref to end the game if I'm not mistaken. I think he went about the wrong way and really should've either talked with amado or the big groups that kept forming whenever there was a foul. It would've of been wayyyyyyy uglier if mexico had tied. Anyways VERY FUNNY VIDEO.
