Any predictions for Denmark game?

I think we'll lose to a very technically good Danish team (especially when you consider that Lovenkrands can't even get in the side!). I hope we make it hard for them and hopefully score, or at least create chances. IF Lambert & Ferguson play in midfield then it will be the one area of the pitch (except goalkeepers) where we will be better than Denmark so we have a chance. :)

I made a blunder too, I meant we wont lose 4 goals.
Especially if Rab Douglas gets the start.
Agree we are mince and I know who you are, you use the same name on soccernet. :)

Scotland manager Berti Vogts has named eight of his starting XI for Wednesday's friendly tie with Denmark at Hampden Park.

The German coach wants to see his strongest possible team in action before the European Championship qualifying ties begin in the Faroe Islands on 7 September.

Sunderland's Kevin Kyle has been handed one of the striker's roles...

Rainer Bonhoff made a decent start as manager of Scotland U-21s with a 1-1 draw with Denmark U-21. Kilmarnock kid Peter Canero, playing as a winger at the request of Bonhoff, scored after half an hour. Denmark took the lead when Beckmann fired in after 18. Gary O'Connor missed a great chance in the second half, while McCunnie cleared a Danish header off the line.

with 10 to go, its still 1-0 to Denmark

Denmark the better team but Thompson should have equalised just after half time.

Douglas & Stockdale have played poorly, everyone else just average.

Berti Vogts has brought in Stevie Crawford and Paul Dickov to the Scotland squad to travel to the Faroe Islands, adding to the forward options for the opening Euro 2004 qualifier.

With Neil McCann out injured, the Scotland boss is keen to ensure that Scotland have as much firepower as possible to get the campaign off to a winning start, and both strikers have had a good start to the season.

On the goalkeeping front, Neil Sullivan's training injury yesterday rules him out of the squad. The uncapped Neil Alexander of Cardiff City comes back into the squad, having had two shutouts for his club over the bank holiday weekend.

The referee for the match has been named by UEFA as Jacek Granat of Poland.

The full Scotland squad for the Faroe Islands is:

Goalkeepers
Neil Alexander (Cardiff City)
Robert Douglas (Celtic)
Paul Gallacher (Dundee United)
Defenders
Graham Alexander (Preston North End)
Stephen Crainey (Celtic)
Christian Dailly (West Ham United)
Maurice Ross (Rangers)
Robbie Stockdale (Middlesbrough)
David Weir (Everton)
Lee Wilkie (Dundee)
Midfield
Barry Ferguson (Rangers)
Scot Gemmill (Everton)
Paul Lambert (Celtic)
Derek McInnes (West Bromwich Albion)
Kevin McNaughton (Aberdeen)
Dominic Matteo (Leeds United)
Gary Naysmith (Everton
Scott Severin (Heart of Midlothian)
Gareth Williams (Nottingham Forest)
Forwards
Stephen Crawford (Dunfermline Athletic)
Paul Dickov (Leicester City)
Scott Dobie (West Bromwich Albion)
Allan Johnston (Middlesbrough)
Kevin Kyle (Sunderland)
Steven Thompson (Dundee United)

Scotland coach Berti Vogts today concluded a successful two day meeting with team managers to establish a new basis for co-operation between clubs and the Scottish international teams.

Attending the meeting in East Kilbride were 11 team managers, including nine from the SPL as well as Billy Stark of St Johnstone and Micky Adams of Leicester City.

A wide range of topics were discussed by the Managers' Group, including fixture planning, player release issues and training camps...

Any predicitions for Faroes game?

I don't think that the Faroes will win but I fear a dull nil-nil. However, we should win. We haven't won under Herr Vogts but have played really good teams, and the Faroes are average-poor. I hope we score early on and win about 2-0.

BTW why don't Kenny Miller & Mark Burchill get into the Scotland squad.

Injured midfielder Barry Ferguson sat out Scotland's first training session ahead of the Euro 2004 Group Five qualifier against the Faroe Islands.

But Scotland team boss Berti Vogts expects the Rangers captain, plus defenders Dominic Matteo and Gary Naysmith, to recover in time to play in Saturday's game.

Ferguson pulled up, seemingly with cramp, close to the end of Rangers' 6-0 thrashing of Dunfermline Athletic on Sunday...
