St. Patrick and I are hoping we're in. We have to figure out where we can get a vacation club account--our credit union doesn't offer them, I don't think.

So, barring any unforseen difficulties (eg a third person in the family or something) we hope to go.

There were plenty of "third person"s in Korea, including a very very little Flannigan.

btw, I'll be in Germany too.

Great Idea. We need to discuss this with my kids. :)

Yes, I'm IN, in any case.

I'm definitely going, and so is my father and my brother. What's great is that one of the players on my team (an over 30 team) has ties to the Fatherland, and is trying to organize a tour of our team to play other teams while we are over there. I hope this comes together--it would be fantastic!

Ich bin ein Sammer.

Yes, I'll be in Germany, probably with the wife and kid.

Hopefully, Condor Air will still be flying out of here in 06. Right now it's about $700 round-trip, non-stop Fairbanks to Frankfurt. Over the pole baby!

Anyone have a suggestion for a good home base type city to branch off from once in Germany?

Uno mas aqui para Alemania.

Ich werde nach Deutschland auch gehen. Schauen Sie in Köln. Mit Gleichen in Leverkusen ist es eine Position, zum wegen des einfachen Zuganges zu anderen Städte zu bleiben. Und Anfang, der die deutsche Sprache übt.

If we could pull it off, I'd wait until after the draw to see where the Yanks are playing (assuming we get there, of course!)...

if you wanna be central to the whole country and be in a host city then i would go with frankfurt.

but the rail system is amazing in germany, you could plant yourself in any city and get to all the venues fairly easily.

I checked Orbitz this morning to see some good deals to Germany, and saw some round trip rate starting at 500 from boston to newark to Frankfurt. i hope these sites make it til then. My aunt at United says a regular round triper would cost up to $1500 each.
I am in of course.
