Hi.

As you may well be aware, the big O will be hosting this year's Grey Cup - in which the Alouettes will be aiming to pip the Stampeders to the post!

(Odd how the game ended up being on the same day as the MLS Cup, though at least they are a few hours apart...)

Anyone here gonna be following it?

I might (might) be watching at some friends' house, but I usually don't care much for the Als or the CFL (I used to). The double-whammy will probably get me to watch a bit.

I'll be keen to see how the Big O does with a crowd of 70,000...and happy to see the Als win as well. It would be great to see a crowd that big if/when the Impact play at the Big O in February.

Last Grey Cup topped out at 65,255. Expect as much this time.

That does include temporary stands. If the Impact by some miracle sell out the Big O, it will be the "standard" sellout (a little over 54k).

Is there an opportunity in the loss of the F1 Grand Prix for the Impact?

"The city is now looking at creating a development fund which could be used to help bring other high-profile international events to Montreal and help businesses affected by the loss of the Grand Prix."

I don't think so - the GP was HUGE for Montreal and attracted a lot of tourists.

If the Impact get bigger, they might fill the void left by the Expos.

I'll definitely be watching although, as an Argos fan, I'll be cheering for Calgary even though I expect Montreal to win.

Have the Impact confirmed the Big O for their next CCL game then? Last I heard the venue was up in the air.

Still up. No confirmation.

Judging from some of the last days of the Expos, the Impact already draw more fans.

Yeah but those were the last days. Expos still have a long history in Montreal and actually still have fans. Or atleast I see tons of Expo stuff still to this day. Impact aren't there yet. But slowly.

The big O is looking good in the final!

And I had to laugh when hearing the commentator say that it was unfortunate the Als couldn't use the PA system to goad the fans (since, as a Grey Cup venue, it's 'neutral') - there shouldn't be a need to lead them round the nose in the first place!

(Which is what I liked about the away Als fans when I watched a game at the Rogers Centre - they made their presence known, despite not having the Argo-loyal local PA system do them any favours!)

I don't really care about football, American, Canadian or Australian, but it sucks Montreal lost.

I'm beginning to lose all hope in ever seeing a Grey Cup in Montreal again, well.... I'm not that bad, it's just sucks that we can't finish things off.
