Along those lines, I don't believe Wake had a single MLSer prior to Brian Carroll in 2003. This year, they have two rookie-of-the-year candidates (Parkhurst, Sealy), a third rookie who plays regularly (Riley), and a fourth who has appeared (Lowery).
But as for UCSB, last year's national runners-up, their drought continues.
Sergi Daniv and Ihor Dotsenko, I believe, both played at Wake.

The UCLA pipeline remains in force, as we've had three more ex-Bruins make their MLS debuts, while Pat Ianni (03-05) and Jordan Harvey (02-05) are still awaiting their chance. Out of the blue, Jonathan Bornstein has been the best rookie they've produced since the year 2000.

Even though he didn't get beyond the A-League in the US, Brent Sancho from St. John's probably deserves a mention after starting in the World Cup.
