El Deportivo acaricia la Supercopa (http://www.marca.com/edicion/noticia/0,2458,176284,00.html)
Deportivo: Molina; Scaloni, César (Andrade; m.71), Naybet, Romero; Sergio, Mauro Silva; Víctor, Valerón (Djalminha; 79), Fran (Sergio; m.67); y Makaay.
Valencia: Cañizares; Curro Torres, Pellegrino, Ayala, Carboni; De los Santos (Baraja; m.46), Marchena (Sánchez; m.75); Rufete (Carew; m.46), Aimar, Vicente; y Angulo.
I guess Valencia was just flat out outplayed. All they really did was counterattack when they could. They'll just have to look forward to the return leg next Sunday.

Depor just thrashed Valencia. Too many injuries in Valencia's squad. The starting mids -Marchena, who is a centreback, and De los Santos- were definitely bad. ¡Menuda pali!

Valenica do not have as much ability as Depor Barca and Madrid. I was not impressed with Valencia's style of play last season, even though they won. They used to be more skillful and exciting 2/3 years ago.
I think they may be found out in the Champions League.

Valencia may not be the most exciting team to watch but they are effective. I wouldn't let one game sell them short. As for CL, I see them getting to the knockout rounds again.

Valencia should go far in the CL as long as they can play tight defense
like they did last year.
Ok, we were waxed in the SCopa., but it's not the most important
games of the season and all is not lost yet. We have a lot of people
injured. Once we get them back, we'll be better.
I see us getting to the knockout stages of the CL for sure.
And if Rmadrid get Ronaldo, I think we should challenge for the league again.
Why do I say this? Because it will take them time to get acclimated, like Zidane last year ...
I dunno .. we will see.

I don't really know much about what happened last week, but is a comeback flat-out impossible? Depor should be playing fairly tentatively with such a large cushion--how is their defensive composure?
Scoring three against a team sitting back (with a team accustomed to sitting back itself) is never easy, but is scoring two at home really all that unreasonable? If that were to happen, nerves might take over and make it a lot easier for VCF to threaten, at least, for a third. How's the mood in Valencia--have the fans written off the Supercopa already?
Is there anything about Depor that makes that scenario particularly unlikely (other than the fact that they scored three times last game while Valencia did not)? Last week, we would have said that a 3-0 whitewashing of a strong defensive Valencia side would probably be a stretch. Why not hold out hope for a turnabout this Sunday?

Well Valencia have been down by 3 goals 5 times in their history and 2 of those times they have come back to win the tie. So it is possible but I find it unlikely against Depor. Unless Valencia recover some of their injuries this should be a fairly comfortable game for Depor.
