I wasn't opposed to it at all really.
What's your reasoning?

It's just stupid money, there's too much of it in football at the moment anyway and that would have been the final straw!

It's my birthday, but it certainly didn't feel like it. Had a horrible day....
Got my Bose headphones stolen (got them a couple days ago), along with my watch (which was cost me quite a lot) and running shoes. Fun stuff! Over $800 worth of my stuff taken on my birthday.....
I know exactly how you and your GF feel, cjump. At least they're replaceable.

sucks, doesn't it? it is terrible seeing your possessions that you worked hard for be taken away by someone who didn't have the desire to work for them. (which reminds me, it's tax season! (you are welcome welfare system!)) you have the right idea though, it is all replaceable. be lucky that nobody was hurt or anything else like that.

So - I've belatedly begun driving lessons, and although I am coping with a manual (stickshift), I really don't see the point of it when you can cruise in an automatic.
I just drove around in my sister's BMW 320D, which is automatic, and it absolutely rocked!
Opinions?
AND:
-Do you drive an automatic or manual?
-What car do you drive?

i have a manual and a i love it. it forces you to be in tune with the car and it helps cancel out some of the other distractions(talking on phone, texting). i would to keep having a manual for life but my left knee is really killing me in traffic right now, so my next car might be an autotragic.

I drive my fathers Infiniti G35x, it's automatic but that thing sure has kick.

Manual, automatics just are too easy, you end up texting, speeding and what not, and that's a bad way to go.

Well I'm planning to go the manual route just because let's see I like to make things hard, and well why not? I find slushboxes boring, and well I'd love to take my car to track days in a few years so learning manual is a must. Also it depends on your thought of a car is it an appliance or is it something you love, and want to have fun with that's where all these decsions come. :)
And did I FORGET TO MENTION I LIVE IN THE CITY I MUST BE MAD :D
Also I don't know what I'll be driving, but I'm leaning toward an older: Focus,3 Series, older Subaru Impreza, VW Golf/Jetta.
Also just my opinion, and I feel this should be implemented everyone who starts off driving should learn in a manual. Auto is cake.

i agree with this, but then again i can understand why drivings schools don't offer it. there would be way too many kids burning out clutches:p.

get a manual, you're more involved and you can take the car to full revs and get it's full potential, i drive a fiat punto sporting, a nice 1.2 16v engine

The traffic department tests here are notoriously pedantic and dodgy. One of my friends got told he failed "because you're white."
Anyhoo, it takes upward of 7 months to get a learner's booking, and the same to get a driver's booked. You can't book a drivers until you have your learners, and you can only book another drivers once you've failed. Add to that, that your learners is valid for 18 months only. Once that expires, it's back to square one.
Mine expires in September 09, and I can only get a booking for July 09. IE, I only get one chance. Most of my friends, after a year of practice, have failed twice or more. Soooo....
You see my predicament. I quit manual lessons today, and start automatic lessons next week. Then I can do the conversion test once I have my learners.

Words cannot express my disappoint. I'm so bummed Arizona lost. Great game though all around for both teams.
