Is that Eastern time? Reason I am asking is because the kick-off time is 14:30 (2:30pm) EST.

Also, I just found out that ESPN Deportes will have the game on tape delay at 5:00pm EST.

ESPN360 will have it live at 11 am EST and Deportes at 5 pm.

360 will also show Sweden-Netherlands(2:45pm) and France-Uruguay(2:55pm), the latter of which is shown live on Deportes as well.

ESPN Deportes has now added Scotland-Argentina LIVE (Maradona's coaching debut for Argentina) at 2:55pm, and has delayed France-Uruguay broadcast at 5 pm. Greece-Italy does not get shown now until 2:00 am Thursday morning.

I see it's listed on ESPN2 for tomorrow, kind of weird isn't it? Except for the WC/Euro's, I've never seen ESPN broadcast an international game in the US that didn't involve the US.

Maybe they want some practice in between competitions or they really are going to big bid for some leagues (don't know the news about any negotiations). I doubt it, but it'd be interesting to see if it's in HD

The game is listed for ESPN2 at 4:30 pm (ET).

I think they have had postiive ratings for the UEFA Champions League and feel there is enough of an audience for European soccer to show a midweek afternoon friendly, particularly since on Deportes, the late addition of Scotland-Argentina pushed back the telecast of France-Uruguay, which displaced the showing of Italy-Greece to early tomorrow morning on that station.

I do not believe this indicates a move to bid on leagues nor a chance to practice telecasts. They have the rights to the match anyway. and think there is enough of an audience to not just to delegate the game to ESPN360. (The future bid on leagues is a possibllity, but this programming decision is not an indicator of that).

On ESPN2, it was Adrian Healey & Robbie Mustoe.

Healy seemed to think that the first goal scored in this game had gone wide of the net! The perils of calling a match from the studio......
