Ugh. I was watching Fire/Revs, and realized I was missing the Wizahds. Not 3 seconds after switching channels, the Crew score a soft goal. Ugh.
Boy do we suck right now. We looked like world beaters three weeks ago. Wha' happened?

I can't watch anymore. Disgusting. Brunt shouldn't even be in the A-league.

Vermes looked his age tonight. Where was the possession. The Midfield was awful tonight; no defensive presence in the mid. It was ugly.

Well due to the recent performance by the Wizards, I figured I'd boycott them for one game and save that season ticket for another game when I can bring someone and we'll actually be playing maybe decent? I just had a bad feeling coming into this game, so I'm glad I passed on attending it, I wouldn't have been able to stomach a 4-0 to the Crew.
I think we peaked at the wrong time, this sucks right now.

No reason to rub it in. Is it possible for Moderators to get a card?

That was ***************************. Hey Andy I booed and gave Danger Bob and bunch a crap as well. Just as he was walking up the tunnel. That is uncalled for. What a shame it is to be a Wiz fan now. This team is in shambles and needs to pull its head out.

Tonight was the first game in seven years when I actually walked out before it was over, 70th minute though I had been considering it since halftime. We looked like shite and I have no one to blame but Curt Johnson and Bob Gansler. I believe that after you have your arse handed to you in 3 of the last 4 games then you start thinking about changing the coach. Maybe a bit rash but I can't understand how we can play this bad in several games in a row. The worst thing was I was thinking that at least last year there was always a chance that Lowe would put one in. Tonight I don't think we would have scored if the game went on until midnight. August has been very dismal.
From an analytical point of view I think that many changes are needed for the 2003 Wizards.
Must go (Wasting roster spots):
Peter Vermes
Matt McKeon
Chris Brown
Francisco Gomez
Probabaly should go:
Preki
Dario Fabbro
Mike Burns
Chris Brunt
Needs to step up next year or end up higher on this list.
Chris Klein
Igor Simutenkov
Eric Quill
I hate to be critical but our lineup is old and slow and there is no one that makes me feel like they could take over a game by sheer will. I think it will be hard to find someone like that but we have to look.

Hold up there. Im pretty sure we are at the point now where we can basically just wait for Preki to retire. For every bad performance this year (cant think of many) hes given at least 3 good ones. He should be on our "must keep" list
Dario hasnt been given enough of a chance to build up much of a partnership with anybody. Plus, we didnt go through all taht crap with immigration and stuff just to get rid of him the next year.
I think he has the potential to be a great player for the team once he settles in a bit more.
Mike burns and Brunt should be down one more level to "get rid of now, or die"

Klein DInt even play tonight for whatever reason, and i really dont think he even did that bad against chicago before he was taken out. Hes been one of the most consistant players on our team this year.
Igor? See above on dario. I really think that he (igor) would be a great person to fill in the shoes of Preki.
Quill is one person i agree with you on, but i have asypathy with him becasue hes coming off of injury and stuff.
But dont expect taht sympathy to last much longer if he keeps up this horrid dtreak of non-finisheing hes been up to latley.

LOL
I'm with you on that one Yank... He's not good enough to be a starter, but while he was on, he was the best man on the pitch.
Based on his performance tonight, he should come off the bench before Brown or Gomez.
Quill played his best game all year long tonight.
Brunt is absolute shyte.
Preki was piss-poor tonight.
Igor was non-existent.
Armstrong didn't do what he usually does, I can't explain it... he just didn't.
Check this stat out people: Oshoniyi had ONE save tonight. ONE!!! The Crew only managed 5 shots on goal, but netted 4 of them. And not one of their goals could be blamed on Oshoniyi. Piss-poor marking can be blamed for every single goal the Crew scored. 2 or 3 of the goals are solely Chris Brunt's fault.

You mean like all the other times you've come on here and said: "I'm glad I checked the boards, I didnt know we were playing tonight."???? I dont know about you, but all of us, no matter how upset we are with the performance go out and root the team on.

And just for the record, the over/under on the suspension the league is gonna dish out to Gutierrez for that punk-ass cheap shot to Buddle is two.
I don't recall seeing anybody in MLS ever get TWO shirts ripped up like Edson did. He had to wear the second one because they only bring one spare.
I know it's just frustration, but when a decent side like yours turns to all that cheap shot crap, you've got real problems. You're not the Fire.
And boy, could you use Tony.

I have to agree with you on the cheap shot. Gutierrez came in elbow high, smacked Buddle (who had taken another cheap shot earlier in the game) in the forehead and then took a shoulder in the collision with Buddle and feigned that he had taken a hit in the head! The replays from various angles showed Gutierrez took NO CONTACT to the head at anytime in the collision. If the league doesn't suspend him for several games, then there is no justice.
I was very disappointed in the Wizards. CAN THE EXCUSES! Too many games, injuries, etc. Just about every team in MLS could use that excuse. The Wizzers were outplayed and outclassed by the Crew. It's time for this team to get it's collective heads out of their arses and buck it up.
Just a few weeks ago everyone here was crowing about the Wiz after they beat SJ, now we have lists of who to retire or kick off the team; we have fans "boycotting" because the team is playing poorly; fans screaming at players; 8600 people showing up on a muggy Sunday night. You would think this team was the Revs. But the Revs still get support on a Sunday night from their fans.

Should've known you couldn't go an entire post without throwing in some sort of comment about our poor attendance.

joe: you've further proven my point that you cannot make a single post about a game without mentioning the attendance and how crappy it is. WHO CARES right now? When you're getting spanked all over the place no one is going to come. they're going to see the score in the paper, laugh and not show up.
I dont think anyone here is trying to make excuses for whats happening to KC. I think we're just as pissed off as the rest of the leagues fans would be and we're trying to search for a reason to tell ourselves to keep cheering for a team that is giving little to cheer about. I've got no excuse for this team, they cant score, and they give up point blank shots. people pass around them like they are an NFL practice squad, and they mark 5 yards off their men. Are they tired, sure they are, and they have had more games than most teams, but you've gotta win once in a while. or at least make it a game.

I've made several posts here with no remark about attendence. I should've known you couldn't help but respond the one time I mention it. And it was only a few words regarding the many problems the Wizards suddenly seem to have when only a few weeks ago the bandwagoners here were crowing about being in 2nd in the West and attendence was up and all things blue in KC were fantastic. A few lopsided losses and the sky blue is falling in KC and Wizzer fans are posting about who to kick off the team next year and screaming at the coach and players at the game...if they are not boycotting them. If you don't like my posts, tough. I wrote as a disappointed KC fan who thinks the behavior of some of the fans stinks as much as the product on the pitch. NE drew 15K and they will probably not make the playoffs. Perhaps that kind of support could fire up the Wizards, not an empty stadium.
