silvestre and viera
what is wrong with this man's selection, it doesn't take rocket scientist to realize we need players for the future, this team doesn't look like it.
no ben arfa, malouda, flamini. all these have been in top form

Sagna is out and Réveillère is to replace him. L. Diarra and Escude are out as well I believe with Boumsong to be called in. Don't know why Silvestre has been called up, but you could easily ask what the hell Squillaci has done to merit a call up as well. As far as I see he is the 4th choice CB so who cares. Nasri was injured during the time of the last call up, I think we will be seeing his name on the team sheet from now on. I'm frankly surprised by Flams not being called up, he seems like the natural replacement for Vieira. Domenech doesn't seem to think he needs replacing though. It's also difficult to see the point of Savidan getting a call up. he's past it. He's actually never had it. I don't think he can score goals on the big stage. Might as well give Gignac a go if you just going to base call ups on purely ligue 1 goals scored. At least he's on the right side of 25. But again he's not going to see the pitch. Not with our Captain, Karim, and Nico ahead of him. And Nico has been feeling real good about himself lately. I would be surprised if he nabbed a brace if given significant minutes.

But in general : Squillaci ---> Silvestre+Boumsong
Silvestre and Boumsong are awful , how they get call-ups is stupid . Our defence sucks as it is , how are they going to fix our problems ?
Savidan past what ? He's still scoring goals , yes he might be getting old but at least he deserve more of a call-up than Silvestre Boumsong and Vieira .
As usual , Domenech and his bullshit selections .
Flamini is needed more than Vieira , Squillaci is needed more than Silvestre/Boumsong . It doesn't make sense !

Savidan is past being of any use to the national team. As is Silvestre, but it's difficult to understand why you're giving Stevie a pass and lampooning Silvestre. Still scoring goals?; well as an avid watcher of Arsenal games, i can tell you that Silvestre is still making stops. He plays in the top flight just like Savidan, with a better team against arguably better opposition. But this might just be coming from the fact you think the defense is in shambles. Consistancy in the back line would help alot. Sit four lads down and once and for all say you are my back line for 2010 and be done with it.

Silvestre making stops ? Hey I watch Arsenal , and he has looked average at best . I just have no idea what has Silvestre done for him to deserve a call-up , Savidan played well last season and has started well with Caen this season so he earned it , and Silvestre didn't play last season at all! And this season he's done nothing to merit a call-up . He's a Man United reject , why Wenger thought he'd be a good buy is confusing .
Like France Arsenal have a shit defence too , Silvestre isn't going to make things better that's for sure .
Look how many goals we've conceded at the begining of the Euro's upto now , not good enough .

Why is Silvestre in there?
And Malouda? Ugh. Ben Arfa on the other hand.

I really don't know what you hope to prove by telling me how a terrible a player is, that I have already said twice didn't deserve a call up.

I'm not trying to prove anything , your comment about 'Silvestre still making stops' confused me since I watch Arsenal aswell . That's all .

All i was trying to say is that Silvestre has been solid for the Arsenal, much better than the performances Kolo had been putting in. But forget about this, its match time!
Here are the lineups:
Looks like we are going with that 433 that has been effective for us recently
Lloris
Fanni Mexes Gallas Clichy
Vieira Toulalan
Gourcuff
Ribery Henry
Anelka
I like how that looks, just unfortunate we cant get Benzema in there, but Anelka has been showing some real good form. Lloris is a nice additon as well, and lets hope Fanni can add to a solid debut he had a few weeks back.
the south Americans are lining up
Carini
Martin Caeceres Godin Leal Lugano Maxi Pereira
Gargano Silva
Christian Rodriguez Pereira
Suarez Forlan
Suyuntuy

Toulalan is not playing as DM but as LM, with Gourcuff as RM.
Uruguay looks like this:
----------------Carini--------------------
Silva ------ Lugano ---- Godin ---- Caceres
A. Pereira - M. Pereira - Gargano - Rodriguez
--------------Suarez---Forlan-------------
A very defensive formation for them.

So far so good. France started playing fast, but since Uruguay moved the midfield back it's become a slow game. Uruguay are known to play a fast counter, and they're trying to enter on our right side. I think they don't know much about Fanni and consider him the weak point in the defence.

We need to speed up our play abit , they're just stay back defending deep .

Well Uruguay are ConMeBol's #5 at this point, and they are playing quite defensive with counters on the wings. Both Alvaro Pereira and Cristian Rodriguez are very fast players, so they are their main option to surprise. Normally, Uruguay brings Seb Abreu for the last 20 minutes and Abreu is a poacher, expert to score headers from wing crosses. Playing for a 0-0 HT result is typical of Uruguay.
At this point I can see that the right side of Les Bleus is having some trouble. Last counter it was fortunate that Evra had moved centre to cover for Gallas, who had moved right to support Mexes and Fanni.
