I am sorry, after tonight I MUST know: what is the deal with Campbell? Do we have to give him back to Man Utd at the end of the season? Or is there a (fixed) price to keep him?
I hope not.
In my dreams, he scores more goal than Sberbatov...

The way I understand it - SAF didnt want him to be a part of the deal, and will not agree to a transfer.

SAF? You mean the guy who b'tched about Real Madrid teasing C. Ronaldo and then went to pick up Berbatov at the airport and de facto screwed up the first month of our season...?
How many fcuking forwards does he want for that crappy team that can't even snatch a tie at Arsenal?

I wonder how long his ManU contract is. He can't be a 'slave' to Fergie forever.

With the possibility of Tevez leaving in the winter, it could mean two things for Campbell. He could be desired even more by Man U come end of season, or a new forward could be picked up who will further distance Campbell from getting any significant time there. I'm hoping for #2.

Lets hope Campbell enjoys his loan spell here enough to convince him to want to stay.

Haha I love that a lot of spurs fans were hating on him at first and now that he's gotten a chance to show what he's made of, he's turning some heads.

I never hated on him, because I knew he was a stopgap for not getting Arshavin. Different types of players, but still we were lacking in the forward department so we did need a 3rd forward. But, I must say I've been pleasantly surprised. I didn't realize he was quite as good as he is. He reminds me a bit of Louis Saha, which is a good thing.

Some people (maybe not Digi) were definitely saying that it would have been better not to have him at all (because of the fact that he's a loanee). Obviously, that is not the case. People who saw him in the Championship said he was a bit special, and he's clearly capable of making the step up.
He's a really good striker. IMO better than Defoe (maybe not as clinical, but definitely more energetic -- which I prefer). I hope we try to keep him, but I very much doubt Utd will sell him to us. If they do it'll cost an arm and a leg, but he may just be worth it.

I hate Man Utd and all their money.
Once they were capable to farm their own players, now they must spend 50m Euro/season to keep up with Chelsea...
If Campbell is so good, why couldn't they keep him, and let Bervatov stay at Spurs?
Gosh, EPL is so unfair...

I was never a hater. I heard how well he did at Hull last year and was excited to have him.

I think that was mostly frustration at the deal and the incompetence of our management, rather than the kid himself.

I feel that Man U won't let him stay. I'am hoping though.

Will he have a word on it?
the point is that with us he'll soon be a starter, at Man U he has Tevez, Berbatov, Rooney and whoever they buy for C. Ronaldo in front of him...
And this boy is already too good for bench.
If HE wants to stay, Spurs will make a good offer, I believe.
Of course Ferguson can decide to ruin Campbell's career, if he (SAF) wants.

They have the kid Danny Welbeck who scored his first goal this last week (and a beauty at that) as well.

Besides C.Ronaldo, I hope Real Madrid gets Rooney and Tevez as well, so that you Fergie can give some minutes to Campbell...
So, Campbell for five months was the key to let Berbatov go?

Nonsense. He's average and will never be more than a backup.
Campbell was only the "key" as the club ballsed up the transfers they should have got in Arshavin and Milito.
Campbell was on his way to Wigan on deadline day until the club had nowhere left to turn except take the only forward available. Ferguson is fully aware of his limitations and this outburst is just a vain effort to try and get him more playing time and to up his value for the eventual sale to Wigan or Hull.

He's average and will never be more than a backup.Little bit harsh. Inexperienced, yes, unproven as well. But I'm not so sure I'd say he's average. Chris Armstrong and Steffen Iversen, now, they were average.

I'd agree that Ferguson is trying to stir the pot, but I think that come the summer there'll be more bids for him than from just Wigan and Hull.
