FYI: Chivas Guadalajara in playoffs

After an abysmal start, Papa Chivas finished the Opening Season (Apertura) w/ the 8th best record, made the playoffs and will commence play tomorrow (Wed.).

In many, many threads there have been references to Vergara's plight in Mexico. Things are looking up for the Goats.

This was pretty much how things were looking in the last matchday of the MFL with Chivas needing an away win as well as Cruz Azul and archrivals AmeriCrap also needing a win but only advancing if Chivas lost !!! America which played at home was finally pulling it together with a four goal victory over weaklings Puebla at Azteca and they were pretty much in since Chivas was losing (all games were played at the same time) then the Azteca fell silent as the Puebla fans broke out with the "Chivas Chivas" chants..

It was beautifull i tells yah. Chivas overcame quite the uphill battle to qualify by stringing together three straight victories. The first one at Azteca the Super Classico against America and we were able to make a comeback and pull out the win. Then Chivas had to play a Derby against Atlas which allready eliminated focus their efforts on bringing us down with them. Finally against San Luis which is in the relegation zone. An odd goal gave San Luis an early lead and then Chivas was reduced to ten men in the first half. The season seemed to end there untill Hans brings in 18 yr old Marco Parra who boosts Chivas attack and Chivas goes on to win the match which at the same time eliminates AmeriCrap..

exited the maexican playoffs with a win over toluca 4-2

the overall score put them on the airport for different vacations! Meaning that MR verga....ra will be in the usa soon to talk about futbol in MLS
