You know you're not a youngun any more when the players you grew up idolising start to retire. Shearer, Suker, Mijatovic and Batistuta have already gone and now Cole has too. Only got Totti and Del Piero left I think. Maybe Vieri too.
Cole was a great player. Derided for his finishing his over all play was fantastic. If he was still at Utd he'd still be our best finisher.....

He still associates himself with United more than any other club.Sky interviewed him and he was full of praise for Fergie as the only manager who knew how to get the most out of him.
He said hisfavourite goal was the 3rd goal in the 3-2 win at Juventus in the CL semi-final in '99. Not so much because it was a great goal, but because it made certain we were going to Barcelona.
Cole and Yorke were some combination back then. The 3-3 draw at Barca will live long in the memory.

Still United through and through for me. He always associates with us, as noted above, and has said that he regrets leaving us when he did. The man was a great goalscorer for us for years, and even though 98-99 will be unforgettable, his overall body of work for us was brilliant.

If memory serves me correctly if you take away Shearer's goals from penalties, Andy Cole scored more goals in his career than Shearer.
