This is a subject in which I have found myself frequently arguing with other people my age...especially now that most of them are no longer easily available to watch. My top three cartoon series of all time are as follows:

1) G.I Joe - it was ridiculous how early I would have to get up to see this show.

2) Speed Racer - nuff said.

3) Transformers - Robots in disguise!

As far as cartoon and anime movies i don't know very much, but I recently saw Spirited Away...and that blew me away.

List your favs..

Back in the day when I was a little shlthead, I used to love this cartoon show with these three black monkeys or cats(to this day I still don't know what the hell they're supposed to be). The three would go around antagonizing others. That was a pretty good show.

Then there was Beavis and Butthead.

I am shocked - SHOCKED - that no one has sung the praises of Hong Kong Phooey yet.

You're thinking of the Animaniacs.

Best cartoon ever..."Marine Boy." Anyone have any idea what I'm talking about?

Snorks, Thundercats, Jem. Jem actually wasn't that good, but little girls really get into all that sparkly, pretty stuff.

Looney Tunes is still my favorite, but little can touch Ren and Stimpy in it's prime.

Do you all remember the He-Man craze back in the 80's?? As far as I can remember it was nuts in Rio...but my parents wouldn't get me a magic he-man sword :(
ps. I guess there was a show called She-Ra too, but I never saw it..

Bullwinkle and the Smurfs rocked.

Bullwinkle, maybe. The Smurfs? Ugh. No amount of mind altering substances was enough to make that show entertaining.

As a little kid, Ren and Stimpy were definitley the highlight of Saturday morning. It was the only cartoon that I HAD to see.

Right now, I'd probably go with

1. Family Guy- Thank God, FOX is bringing it back.
2. Futurama- 10X as funny as the current Simpsons. Although, the Britain episode was quality.
3. Simpsons- Just because they're the Simpsons, despite their current suckiness.

As a kid my favorite by far was the original Disney Afternoon - Chip and Dale's Rescue Rangers and Duck Tales. Such quality.

My new favorite cartoon (well, Western cartoon) is Space Ghost: Coast to Coast. The rest of Adult Swim can be hit or miss - I'm not a fan of the Brak Show, Sealab can be kind of boring, and Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law is only brilliant sporadically (the episode where he defends Scooby and Shaggy after they got busted for possession is one of the funniest things I've ever seen).

The Simpsons has already been mentioned, but admittedly it doesn't have the bite that it used to have.

I really like the very old Popeye cartoons that opened with the wrecked ship and the credits behind the sliding doors. I loved it when he would go around muttering all the time. Sadly, the newer Popeye cartoons are not watchable.

I also like a lot of the old Tex Avery cartoons. There is one where a dog (the same one that is Spike in Droopy cartoons) is after a small white cat and a black cat keeps on walking in front of the dog causing terribly painful things to happen to him. That one still has me ROTFLMAO which I catch it.

I'm probably in the minority here but i ********ing detested "Scooby Doo." Stupid even for 8 yr. olds.

"The Flintstones" rocked because Fred reminded me of every working dad in the neighborhood.

Robert Smigel has done some hilarious work on SNL and the short-lived "TV Funhouse."
