You should decide for your own which team to support. But if you want to support a successful team, support Juventus or AC Milan. And if you want to support for a sorry team, go for Udinese or Hellas.

I agree with Foots, you should definitely decide on your own. Learn about the club's history, past and present players, managers, owners, and supporters. Also pick which club colors, uniforms, logo, stadium etc. that you like.

AC Milan (http://www.acmilan.com/)
Foss dei Leoni (http://www.fdl.it)
Google Links (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=ISO-8859-1&q=AC+Milan)

If you need anything else just let me know.

You should support Perugia because Clint Mathis and DMB play for them...oh wait

You shouldn't support a club whose name you can't spell either. ;)

you can try http://www.soccernet.com to follow news and stats on Serie A. It doesnt follow it as strongly as it does england or scotland but it does have good info on it in the Europe section.

Both clubs are on the same boat.

I'm of the belief that if you cheer for a team from another country, it really doesn't matter how you come to support them, just that you stick with them through good and bad.

There are plenty of ways to pick a team, from supporting one that has a member of your national team (I'm guessing a fair amount of US fans follow Ajax a little closer than before because of O'Brien) to the first team you can see live. I went with Manchester United and AC Milan as my two teams as they were the first Euro games I saw in '90. And San Jose I've been with since day one.

Honestly, if you are just starting to watch Italian soccer, see as many games as you can and see which teams excite you. You tend to be drawn to certain teams, even if they aren't your favorite. As others have suggested too, read up on the history of the clubs and after that, the choice pretty much makes itself. Good luck!

Oh, and www.italian-soccer.com should be back online the 25th of August I believe - it's one of the better Italian league sites in English

Or Liverpool is out of the question, but I digress...

I agree with cpwilson80, given you have no history with any team, then follow the league for a while and see which team/player/group of fans excite you.

I'm curious as to just exactly how one "supports" Liverpool without knowing about Heysel.

And Brian.....

Also pick which club colors, uniforms, logo, stadium etc. that you like. Colors? Uniforms (that change every year)? You're not serious, are you?

Club colors, symbol, and their stadium rarely change. I'm not sure why you think they change every year.

Uniform styles change often but usually have a similiar stlye and the same colors. If you love Lazio's sky blue you won't hate their new kit the next year...

And Mutts, that is pretty pathetic that you never heard about Heysel, Liverpool fan or not.
