Not bad (history in the making, huh?)

"Of the 38 eligible players, 23 are MLS veterans. Of that 23, 12 are eligible solely through their MLS careers, while the remaining 11 have met the eligibility criteria through U.S. National Team play while also playing in MLS. "
If anyone would ever doubt why Caligiuri belongs....

Ex-MLS stars eligible for Soccer Hall
http://www.thedailystar.com/sports/2003/11/25/sphall.html
"MLS commissioner Don Garber, an Oneonta State graduate, sounded enthused about players from his
league now being eligible.
"Today is the first step to recognizing Major League Soccer's part in the history of the game," Garber said. "We are proud of our representatives on this ballot and we look forward to honoring MLS inductees as the opportunity presents itself."
Also 5 new directors have been elected for the organization, Don Garber among them

Michelle Akers, John Maessner, Desmond Armstrong, Holly Manthei, Geoff Aunger, Pato Margetic, Brian Bliss, Megan McCarthy, Chico Borja, Bruce Murray, Paul Bravo, Uche Okafor, Paul Caligiuri, Francis Okaroh, Jeff Causey, Hugo Perez, Fernando Clavijo, Brandon Pollard, Thomas Dooley, Sarah Rafanelli, John Doyle, Mark Santel, Eric Eichmann, Mark Semioli, Wendy Gebauer, Mark Simpson, Linda Hamilton, Diego Sonora, Mary Harvey, Mike Sorber, Mo Johnston, Steve Trittschuh, Debbie Keller, Perry Van der Beck, John Kerr, Jr., Roy Wegerle, Frank Klopas, Eric Wynalda
Besides Paul Cal and Wynalda..... I think the following players would get a shot at Hall of flame.
Desmond Armstrong: he did a lot of work to promote among the African Americans when he was with USMNT.
Hugo Perez: Best American player in the late 80's & early 90's.
Bruce Murray: 2nd or 3rd all-time scorer for USMNT. Overrated in my opinion, but his numbers are too good to ignore.
Thomas Dooley: Very good in the early to mid-90's. His best was perhaps his committment to Mission Viejo.
