Let's see the best logos from all the various professional and minor league sports in the U.S. (and Canada, I guess). The majority of the current logos are crap, but there are still some good ones left. Sadly, many of the best logos are long gone...
And yes, soccer logos are fair game.
Let's start with some classic hockey logos...

By what standard is this a good logo?
Just because it's old, doesn't mean that it's a classic. Like wise, just because something is newer, doesn't make it crappy.
That thing is awful!

Nah, that's a badass logo. I agree with part of what you said though. While looking through old logos, only about a quarter of them are even halfway decent. Most of the old logos are horrible, but there were some good ones. I tend to like simple logos, as you'll see.

This logo is classic. Well done, great coloring, and simple.
By no means is it old, either.

Like really, what makes it badass?
It's simply the Clark Station logo with the work Milwaukee written on top. It's too crowded with letters and not at all good coloring with the black letters on red/orange background.

Keep in mind that these are my personal favorites. I'm not judging these as a graphic designer or anything. These are just the logos that I wouldn't be ashamed to wear.

Liked the old one better, which was the same exact thing, except they tilted the whole thing a couple degrees to the right.
However, it's pretty good in today's NBA. Thank God they haven't tried to replace it with an angry skunk or something.

I still like the Milwaukee Brewer logo from the 80s. The "m" and "b" (for Milwaukee Brewers) forged together into the glove. Classic.

It's not a logo but the year when the NFL teams wore throwback jerseys I thought the Lions uniform was the best one out there. They should have worn that from then on and replace their current uniforms.
