Player sought after fatal crash (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/west_midlands/3230716.stm)

Sky Sports have (apparantly) revealed that the player in question is Lee Hughes.

Lets hope there's a reasonable explanation.

If Hughesie is in some way responsible, he's going to have to face the consequences. Since someone has died, I well expect the courts not to give him a simple slap on the wrist.

And then where would that leave Albion with regard to our group of forwards??? :(

Just awful.
Where the heck did he go & with whom did he go with. Gone for, what 24 hours? 30 hours? Was he sobering up? Frightened? Who was advising him?
So the story goes that 3 passengers of his stayed, while Lee and someone else took off?
I told a co-worker of mine this morning who went to school with Lee...he was in shock.

This is indeed a dark day for all involved.

As for the strikers...or lack thereof...
Didn't Megson use a 3-5-1-1 at Wigan. Hulse up top with Artim tucked under him? Then again, Neil has seen a few minutes up top. (okay, so those matches have paid off with 0 goals!!)

Have faith...we're away! :D

Geez...fingers crossed that there's a good explanation for this mess.

The Evening Mail has reported that Hughes is out on conditional bail. His trial has been set for December 5.

Hughesie needs to check in with West Midlands Police every day, so I'm not certain there is a restriction on his participation in normal training. But I don't think he will be involved in a football match for some time.

Is what I hear correct...he's got Beck's old lawyer, Neil Freeman, from a few years ago?

(Better than Michael Jackson's...who is also representing Scott Peterson - yikes, what a pair!)

So, Wednesday they go before the Coventry Magistrates Court. Is this where he pleads guilty or not guilty? Will the timetable of the procedings be issued at that time? Will there be a trial? What about the other 4 occupants of the mercedes?

Of course, someone's life has been taken because of the course of action taken that night...but I cannot imagine what is going through Lee's mind... now...through the remainder of the season...and, for that matter, for the rest of his life!
