Is the average age of the outfield players who finished the game against Zagreb.

Bent - 24,
Campbell - 21
Lennon - 21
Bostock - 16
Huddlestone - 21
Zokora - 28
Gunter - 19,
Bale - 19
Hutton - 24
Dawson - 25

And it could have been even less if Zokora had come off instead of, say Bentley.

Average age of the Arsenal team that ended their last european game - 22. And this is not even counting Sylvestre (31) who started the game. Yet somehow they're still the kids...

Yeah, but they use it as an excuse when they lose.

i know im asking for trouble here, and ive stayed away from here, but i just have to bite this one.

so whats your Point?

that your team will FOREVER be in Arsenals shadow? your team beat a team from Ukraine.

If you want to have a younger side, great, go for it. But applaud there talent and get behind it, prey that they can get you guys to greater and better things than wanting to be like or better than Arsenal.

Yes, well I suppose self-control implies some strength of character, so I understand why you have none.

so whats your Point?
To make an observation (different from an argument) to my fellow Spurs fans that we have a younger team than that widely considered to be a team of "kids," and who use this as an excuse every time that they fail to deliver.

that your team will FOREVER be in Arsenals shadow? your team beat a team from Ukraine. Oh, please. How old are you? Five? Six? You really think that writing something in bold or all caps therefore makes it true? Spurs have been the true innovators of the english league period. On and off the field. Revolutionized the game with push and run. First english club to win in europe (and still has more european trophies that the other club that we're allegedly in the shadow of). The club that truly revolutionized the british transfer market by bringing in top foreigners -- Villa and Ardiles. The first club (in the world) to give supporters a piece by going public. My club's history is 125 years old, and for all I know it will be around for another 125. Your statement is so idiotic, that my politest response has to be: feck off to your own damned boards, you pathetic little fool.

Mods -- this thread was intended as a discussion for Spurs fans of our young team. I didn't post it on the rivalries forum or the Arsenal forum for that very reason. Sort it out.

i really don't know how significant this stuff is anymore, though, SF. i mean, i somehow get the feeling that the 'kids' thing at arsenal has evolved just a bit from the excitement of anticipation for what is to come at arsenal, to a resolution as to what they'll be seeing at barca and milan three years down the road.

nasri puts a brace past united? very good. nice win. enjoy it. matchday is what football is all about. but nasri as a piece of the puzzle that will see arsenal dominate english football over the next six or seven years? well, we all now know the arsenal 'kids' program doesn't work like that.

I think I was a victim of attempted neg-rep. (Which was FAIL, ironically enough)

For posting in the Spurs forum.

Woe is me.

LOL. you beat dyname zagreb, uefa cup,WOW! our kids have beaten real madrid, juve, ac milan, all away from home, and inter in N5! oh yea, and it was CL footy.

So I can't be excited that my team won a game with those young'n's?

Btw, just for reference:

Real Madrid Away (Feb. 21, 2006) (0-1):
Lehmann, Eboue, Toure, Senderos, Flamini, Ljungberg, Hleb (Pires 76), Silva, Fabregas (Song Billong 90), Reyes (Diaby 80), Henry.

Real Madrid Home (Mar. 8, 2006) (0-0):
Lehmann, Eboue, Toure, Senderos, Flamini, Hleb (Bergkamp 86), Silva, Fabregas, Reyes (Pires 68), Henry, Ljungberg.

Juve Home (Mar. 28, 2006) (which was the 2-0 victory):
Lehmann, Eboue, Toure, Senderos, Flamini, Hleb, Silva, Fabregas, Pires, Henry, Reyes (Van Persie 82).

Juve Away (Apr. 5, 2006) (which was a draw 0-0, don't know where you're getting a win from):
Lehmann, Eboue, Toure, Senderos, Flamini, Hleb (Diaby 87), Ljungberg, Silva, Fabregas, Reyes (Pires 62), Henry.

AC Milan Home (Feb. 20, 2006) (0-0):
Lehmann, Sagna, Toure (Senderos 7), Gallas, Clichy, Eboue (Walcott 89), Flamini, Fabregas, Hleb, Adebayor, Eduardo (Bendtner 74)

AC Milan Away (Mar. 4, 2006) (0-2):
Almunia, Clichy, Senderos, Gallas, Sagna, Diaby, Fabregas, Flamini, Eboue (Walcott 71), Hleb (Silva 89), Adebayor.

Inter Milan Away (Group Stage) (Nov. 24, 2003) (5-1, look familiar?):
(Hardly a youth team.)
Lehmann, C*mpbell, Cole, Cygan, Parlour, Edu, Pires, Ljungberg, Toure, Henry (Aliadiere 90), Kanu (Silva 71)

The younger teams were played when they had nothing to prove at home (barring the AC game), just don't give up the lead. Nice try. I don't see any squads similar to those that get a run out in the early FA Cup rounds or the Carling Cup, so yes, you are playing in the CL, but you're still a c*nt.

Fook off back to your forums and have a nice day. :)

Also, enjoy Nasri while he's there, great talent.

All I really wanted to do was to put the spotlight on what a young team we fielded the other day, because it really has not gotten much attention. The comparison with Arsenal was only intended to show that our team is on par (even younger, actually) with one that is widely considered to be the youngest out there.

Suffice to say that that I was in awe of the fact that we fielded a 16 year old, two 19 year olds and three 21 year olds. Wasn't sure people had noticed and just wanted to point it out.

oh, perfectly fair.

i was just pointing out that the whole 'kids' thing doesn't seem to be quite as bubbly a topic amongst the gooners anymore.

It's easy to forget how young the likes of Lennon, Hudd and Bale are because they are established first-teamers. A great sign for the long-term health of the club.

We just don't make a big deal about it. When we were having our terrible run I don't recall any whining about immaturity or how the other team fouled us too often. :D

You're a wanker. His point is that the media darlings aka Arse anal aren't really as young or whatever as sky wants you to think, or at the very least they aren't the only team with a young squad. This has nothing to do with any attempt to be more like Arse anal.

Did I mention you are a wanker and a known troll and no one here cares for your opinion, especially someone so ignorant as to think Zagreb is in Ukraine. It really highlights your age.

Too illiterate to read the reset of the thread, btu didn't that other team play Zagreb in a CL qualifier a few years back? And didn't they go to the Ukraine in the CL this year and drop 2 points?

I think he should call Arsene to see if he has some sort of opening as a personal assistant. We all know Wenger loves the kids. :D
