I suppose this is a dumb question, but what happened to Cristiano? I can't watch it all and am only beginning to be able to follow (sketchy comprehension) all the various leagues, etc. but I noticed he wasn't in the last couple games. Is he playing for an national team? Is he hurt? I am hoping asking someone on the Boards will be faster than digging on the ManU site. Thanks

he is Portuguese, on their Nat team, sometimes starts for ManU , sometimes off the bench. Lots of fancy moves, promising player.

Hey E -
Welcome to BigSoccer.
The boards are a great place to look, but this is the wrong forum on this set of boards. Browse around & you'll find plenty of EPL and ManU forums (fora?), where people will answer your questions even faster. This is Yanks - not Portos - Abroad.

Yes, I'm sure you're right. I'm really a Galaxy fan (ouch) so this is the first place I went. Now the MLS season is over it's on to the rest of the world. Thanks.

Welcome to the Manchester United Forum. :D
Ronaldo is a quality up and coming player for us currently. He's also a mainstay for the Portugese U-23 team and has made a few caps for the full National Team as well.
He's very dangerous with some fancy moves down the wing and his crossing is getting better and better. The crowd starts to buzz whenever the ball is at his feet...
He's still young though, and Ferguson is the man to bring him into his own slowly. Fergie's probably been forced to play him a bit more than he planned on early in the season due to injuries on the team. The press hyped up Ronaldo a bit when he made his debut, and some people questioned his ability to make it in the Premiership when he didn't dazzle in his next few appearances. But Fergie is a master at bringing youth into the squad, Ronaldo has a very bright future indeed.

Useful info and thanks for the perspective. I am hoping the tickets for next summer's tour aren't horribly prohibitive. Thank God for satellite TV....Now we better let this board get back to MLS or we'll be OSTRACIZED
