I don't care what people say ... Jurassic Park was one hell of a book. Great page turner, fun to read. Sure, it ain't shakespeare but it was still one my most enjoyable reads. this is too bad.

Very good writer. The Andromeda Strain was the first book by Crichton that I read back in the late 1970 or 1971 in paperback. He also wrote the Great Train Robbery, Timeline, Congo and other books. Brilliant guy and writer.

RIP Michael Crichton and thank you for your body of work.

He was the author that got me to transition from juvinille/young adult to adult novels back in middle school when I read Jurrasic Park, will be missed.

Same here, only with Congo, Sphere, Andromeda Strain (wha???), Jurassic Park, etc.

Wow, I didn't realised I'd read so many of his books (I left some out)...

RIP

couldnt have said it better myself.

Jurassic Park was a epic novel, I've reread it atleast 5/6 times and still can't put it down.

Sphere was another captivating read as well. He will be greatly missed, RIP:(

One of my favorite authors, I've read almost all of his fiction work(the only one I haven't read is Disclosure). I really liked how he'd set up his novels by diving deep into complicated subjects and tried to make them simple for his readers. I made that same transition through his work, but the first book I read was Congo. His best novel is probably the Andromeda Strain, but my favorite one is The great train robbery.

It's really a shame that most of his work was butchered by Hollywood.

don't forget, he also created ER and even directed many movies, too ...

very sad to hear.

i read quite a few of his books. some hits and some misses.

always thought one of his best was Rising Sun. the movie was watered down far too much. agree a lot with what has been said about Jurassic Park. it was unputdownable for me. i went to bed early one night and started reading it. i honestly could not bare to put it down and carried right on through until 6am the next morning.

Disclosure and Airframe were also good but i wasn't overly thrilled with Timeline or Prey.
