well am not very surprised,if you had noticed on our bench in past few games there was no sort of love and communication going on btwn CZ & HM

I didn't notice that, Naz (well, I saw just 1 of the last 4 games live). Hans Meyer seems to be pretty surprised, though ... and stated that he never had a problem with Christian Ziege:

But of course CZ surely wasn't amused by HM's criticism concerning the team structure, inexperience and lack of quality in defence ... since he & Jos Luhukay compiled this team and thought it would be strong enough to keep the league (to be honest, I thought that as well at the season start).

Here's an interesting comment from an "AZ" article (tell me if you need a translation):

And another perfect analysis from "Seitenwahl" (in German):

It really hurts to see what happened within the last 6 months (I think we all remember the confidence & euphoria after re-promotion and don't forget how much faith we had put in Jos & Christian). But well, there's no room for emotion at the moment ... since all that counts this season, is keeping the league!

We'd have absolutely nothing to lose with this transfer ... since Galasek doesn't cost any transfer fee and will surely stay only for the rest of the season. If he's still fit, he'll surely be able to help us with his great experience and strategic qualities ... as everybody knows that we lack a "leader" in the midfield! I think that not only our defence would profit but also our young midfielders like Marin, Baumjohann and Bradley.

Here's the official confirmation in English:

Ziege resigns as assistant coach

Christian Ziege has resigned his position as assistant coach at Borussia Mönchengladbach. The 36-year-old did not travel with the team to Israel and announced his decision today.

The transfer seems to be almost perfect (still waiting for the official confirmation).

I've just taken a look at "transfermarkt.de" and noticed that he played 14 out of 16 league games (his club - with our former striker Vaclav Sverkos - is 3rd in the table) and had 2 UEFA Cup appearances ...

... so he should be fit (especially after Hans Meyer's winter break preparation:-).

I've just watched the recorded 1-hour "DSF" report about our Israel trip and the friendly against Netanya ... and have to say that our 18y old goalie made my day (damn, that was soooo funny:-)! :D

Here's a few nice impressions from the trip:

I once met a family member of Christian Ziege in Berlin (I think it was a cousin). He told me that he is a bit temperamental. No, really! I always liked him as a player and I hope they don't make him the goat of M'gladbach's season.

"Goat" is really good in that case!
I don't think so. Many people placed their hope on him, and are just frustrated by the changes. The times are fast, a lot of work to do, lots of speculation about new players... not much time to reflect what's going on. If the season ends up in the trash can, the people will demand the head of club's president Königs, he is the only constant in the frustrating last years. Blaming Ziege won't help him.

I remember a recent Aachen match where they beat Bayern at home. Of course, Bayern bought the goal scorer for their reserve squad after that. M'gladbach are worthy of respect and I wish them the best. This club has done well and I expect them to stay up. That said you are your record.
