Article about the game:
http://www.fcmn.co.il/eng/news.php?op=a&id=979
Lothar Matthäus, head coach of Maccabi Netanya said: We are keen that this game will be a showcase for everything that is positive about football in Israel and international sporting relations. Borussia Mönchengladbach is a legendary team and the history of partnership between the club and Israel dates as far back as the 1960s. It will be a joy to welcome such a prestigious club to Israel and our hope is that thousands of people will share that joy with us.
Thanx for the links.

Valdez & Owomoyela missing? Where did you get that from?
Btw: You should list our missing players (Kleine, Callsen-Bracker, Svard, Jaures, Neuville, Daems) as well...

I was on the phone last nite with BVB coach and he told me personally!!!
Kidding Uwe,its on BVB website for the up-coming game against us!
As far as who we are missing, am not too worried given the current situation we are at, for us right now..its more about the fighting spirit and the need & desire to win basically, besides our injuries are an old news..and am getting used to it..just like how our strikers just cant score open wide goals..or how our D-Line loves to gift wrap easy goals to our opponents in every single match...

Here's a part of the press-conference:
http://www.borussia.de/de/pk_vor_dortmund__a_,133130,0.html
Philip Daems' (our best defender) missing will be a huge handicap for us! But well, there's no time for complaining ... even though the CB duo Gohouri/Brouwers surely doesn't make me feel confident. Although we badly have to get at least a draw, my expectations are pretty low for tonight ... so our guys can only surprise me positively. We always look bad against Jürgen Klopp, nearby they have not lost a home game this season and haven't conceded a goal since 420 minutes. Nearby their attack will surely be very motivated after 2 goalless draws (I expected them to play with 3 strikers against our weak defence)...
But hey, we're also not without any chance if we finally manage to avoid silly mistakes in midfield & defence and play with tactical discipline & cleverness against their expected pressing. They have to win the game after so many draws at Westfalenstadion and will be pushed ahead by 75,000 supporters (5,000 are BMG fans) ... and this should give us space for dangerous counter attacks.
Here's my preferred line-up for this game:
......................................Heimeroth
Levels................Brouwers................Gohouri...............Dorda
.......Bradley/Alberman...........Jantschke.............Paauwe
.......................Baumjohann..................Marin
.........................................Colautti
Btw: Here's the stats between both clubs

Our last away win in Dortmund dates back to the end of the last decade...

Btw: I've just read that Kloppo even sent spies to our training ... so let's hope that Hans bluffed them. :-)

Well, that's our big problem. We've the worst defence (what means that the defensive midfield isn't doing a good job either) and are also the team which missed the most top chances (27 of 33). :(
We played pretty well (for a bottom team) against Bayern, Schalke & Leverkusen ... but we all know the outcome (1 point).

I also think so, Colautti is still a hope for me. Maybe Meyer has a different opinion; the team in the final training session was Heimeroth, Levels, Brouwers, Gohouri, Dorda, Paauwe, Jantschke, Bradley, Marin, Matmour, Friend.:(

Am not falling for this BVBs clean sheet BS,big FOCKIN deal..That might very well be dortmunds achillies tendon and weakness...worse thing that can happen to us is another loss, i hope not but we have nothing to lose and we cant go any lower in the table...so i would start-off with matmour in the line-up as well..more strikers and less defenders is my choice..if only we can strike first in this game..it may very well have a different outcome for us by the time its all said and done...ive said this many times...at this point our D-LINE is a lost cause so we might as well..start off with extra strikers and offensive players..and defend the game by more attacking football vs. investing in our poor defense..and hope to secure our goal..thats how i would like to see meyer send in the troops today!

They just wanted to bluff you, Naz! :p
Of course Valdez is available ... and I bet he's also starting tonight, since Klopp is likely going for 3 strikers (knowing about our weakness on both FB positions). That's the reason I'd field 3 defensive mids, so 2 of them can assist our young FB's...
I also think so, Colautti is still a hope for me. Maybe Meyer has a different opinion; the team in the final training session was Heimeroth, Levels, Brouwers, Gohouri, Dorda, Paauwe, Jantschke, Bradley, Marin, Matmour, Friend.:(
I'd start with Colautti, since Rob isn't really a counter-attack striker (too slow) ... but well, Rob can hold the ball and scored at Schalke.
Who knows, maybe Hans just tried to bluff the BVB spies and is going to start with 2 strikers in a 4:3:1:2 again.
more strikers and less defenders is my choice...
... and get caught on the counter-attack again (as happened against Schalke, Cottbus & Leverkusen).
Of course we need goals, but you can't win an away game in front of a 80,000 crowd by fielding more offensive than defensive players! We have to avoid an early lag (or better take an early lead) and play good counters (Subotic isn't the fastest) from a solid defence in order to be successful tonight. The key will be our defensive midfield in my opinion...

Ya those are childish bluffs anywayz...never really works,i wasent really worried or concerned..as i said its more about US and how bad we truly need and feel that desire to WIN in dortmund this evening!
I wouldnt like to see a defensive gladbach today,no point really..no matter who we place on the field and how many... our defense will fold at some point under pressure....so we might as well go for the element of surprise and add more attacking players and initiate the attacking...i think our only chance is to take them by surprise score goals..and then maybe stay in the pocket and with some even keel defend the result ! i would really like to see both matmour and colautti play today from the first min!
I would really like to see 3 strikers :)
BY THE WAY THIS IS A TYPICAL VINTAGE HANS MEYER COMMENT & MOMENT...ANOTHER REASON I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE GUY
HANS MEYER "We're going to make life as difficult as we can for them"
I JUST LOVE IT.....:)

We don't even have so many strikers at the moment! :p
I think we're going to play either in a 4:3:2:1, 4:2:3:1 or 4:3:1:2...
I wouldn't start Matmour, since he's always better when coming in after the interval.

Uwe
This is a very " strange" borussia team...id say every 100 years something like this may come around...so bad in defense i mean, yes if we had some form and structure in the back field i would say ya lets try and secure the goal and hope for the best and invest in counters..we have tried that many many times and failed each and evry time ,every formation possible in the back field has been examined..and against the weakest teams in the table also..and we always screw up in the same manner and fashion..so i wouldnt really worry or focus about this defense too much at this point and time i mean..id say a VANILLA defense is good for today( because if we go down we gonno go down regardless) I really believe its all about somehow performing an attacking football and just take them by surprise and cripple their game-plan..if we can do that then i think we may develop the nerves to defend in a more reasonable way...thats our only way out,yes we may not have 3 solid stikers..but we have players that can assist in the attack better vs. our sloppy defenders...nyway i hope meyer can re-build this D-LINE during the winter break and that is the real time and place to look into fixing this dilemma we have and not today ... all am concerned about really is that today should not really be about this D-LINE that has no proper spine...as much as we need all the 3 points and another loss would be horrible..but id risk it for an all out attacking policy and see the outcome for a change!
Thanks for the link BTW..hope it works!

Well, then let's surprise them with a 4:1:2:3 system tonight. ;)
