As i explained this weekend after the game, the root of our problem lays deeper than just adding a few players here and there! yes we do have immediate need for some players at different positions..but football is a TEAM-GAME and as a team we have no unity or character right now..we just dont give our 100% period, As i said on sunday what you see and feel and the vibe you get from watching GLADBACH..is a very ugly and scary one..very flat, this team seems like have lost its ability to trust one another and they do not have enough composer to perform anymore..not even at a min-standard...each game something new splits apart and gives way, something is very wrong with this team at this moment and its been building all along in the past few months and it quite visible with their body language on the pitch....its either a difference of opinion btwn players inside the team or just the fact that nobody is that excited to go anywhere with this club anymore and perhaps more concerned about their other options with other teams, I really feel for hans meyer..because this is a very hard & long term work/problem he is dealing with here at borussia! Its safe to say after almost half a season there is something very wrong with this team and needs major overhaul, its not only one or 2 positions...you just dont see a strong will power and burst of excitement watching these players play (majority of them at least)..no real sense of belonging and planing for the future with this team...as far as buying a goalie goes..thats stupid,we dont need goalies...with our D-Line..even a break wall would fold at no time :(let alone a goalie !

I agree. I don't see the point of getting a new goalie if the defence is bad in overall...

Borussia Monchengladbach defender Steve Gohouri has told skysports.com that he is targeting a move to the Premier League.
Reports have claimed that Newcastle United are lining up a 4million euros (£3.4m) bid to sign the Ivory Coast international in January.

I hope he moves to England either. One problem less in our defense, and you get much better players for that money.

By 4 Mio € und 1,5 year contract I would say ok.

3 Mio are for Onyewu

Nothing about a price for Bailly at

So why did you mention the president of Genk? Onyewu plays for Liège...
But I doubt we'll even pay € 3 million for a CB.

Agree. If he wants to leave and they really offer 4 million, let's sell him!

Well, not even against Bremen & Bayern...?
Obviously they can play well & fight only against the top teams (when we are clear outsiders) - the Stuttgart & Schalke games weren't that bad either - so maybe they'll surprise us against Leverkusen.
If they don't fight and run as for their lives on Saturday, the fans will get very mad! Nobody expects a win (although we need it) ... but what has to be expected, is a big fight & total passion - how shown against Bremen and Bayern! The players earn a lot of money and have perfect conditions at Borussia-Park (who knows, maybe they are a little bit spoilt) ... so it's their damn duty to fight for the club & the fans! The time for alibis has definitely run up!

I'm waiting for the complete press-conference on "eyeP.tv" (should be available soon).
At least there's a pre-game report:

There's always hope
Borussia are expecting a crowd of around 46,000 for the final home game before the winter break against Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday. Some 43,000 tickets have been sold so far.

13 draws and 3 defeats against Leverkusen at home since 1989 ... so it's really, really time to get a win! But who believes in little wonders after the fiasco against Cottbus?
Btw: PLEASE do me finally the favour to make use of the EDIT button, Luckie! If you continue using a whole posting for every sentence, we'll need the 3rd season thread very soon...

Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be very easy. Leverkusen have their own plan, and they don't want to lose for the 3rd time in a row...
I'm glad to see Gohouri leave. I don't know I never really liked him, even when he played in Bnei Yehuda (Israel). He was a holer in every game...
The question is, who to bring instead? What are the options?

From the looks of it this season and how strange everything has turned out for us...i actually wouldnt be surprised if we win against Leverkusen or draw!
But thats not an answer to our ongoing problems.. and lack of foundation and structure!
this might sound crazy but if we have to go back to 2nd division one more time to come back to our senses and find a solid system/foundation...so be it,in todays prof sport there is no place and time for guessing games and experimenting...and hoping to somehow survive the pressure..you have to do everything right from get-go!
Lets see if hans meyer can do his magic during the winter break..if not this team needs to get a new "hard-drive" and "processor" just like a computer..."anti-virus" and such applications will not help us out of these muddy-waters..might be a cure for our short term problems...but eventually we will vanish and get slaughtered by strong and well developed clubs that actually have depth and different options to move to any position on the table as they desire!
We have been dealing with this yo-yo effect thing for many years now..and who could see that we would get relegated for a 2nd time?? I mean this is GLADBACH we are talking about right?? afer the first time we got relegated and succeeded to come back to the top-flight..everybody thought this club has experienced enough and learned enough to not screw things up...but hey its almost a decade now and we are back in the same position, but only worse! So i think this should go-on till we really find the right people and players..sponsors etc ,or go back to the 2.liga and later 3rd liga! Clearly we have had a negative resume ever since we got relagated and we have taken 1 step ahead and 3 steps back...slowly this will catch-up with us unless we can turn around things in a manner and fashion that meets the standards of a prof league in germany....untill then we will always be worrying about surviving the bottom of the table and in that case id rather go back to 2.liga and build something right!

Very easy? You're really funny...;)
Leverkusen have their own plan, and they don't want to lose for the 3rd time in a row...
That's right. But that could also be our big chance ... since they'll surely try to win and play very offensively, so we can hopefully catch them on counters (that's their weak point) with our fast players Marin, Baumjohann and Matmour. However, the most important thing is to improve defensively and not allow them any space around our box, as that would be deadly against their top strikers & good technicians...
They'll not only play very offensively but also pressing in midfield & attack (I know their manager Bruno Labbadia very well from last season, when he coached my local team Greuther Fürth) ... so we'll have to run a lot and be very strong in the direct duels! If there's just 1 player in our team who's not ready to run and fight (as happened against Cottbus in the 1st half), I'm gonna get very mad!
I'm glad to see Gohouri leave.
It's only a rumour from the British media so far...
I don't know I never really liked him, even when he played in Bnei Yehuda (Israel). He was a holer in every game...
Steve is the fans' darling at Borussia-Park due to his fighting spirit ... but I agree with you that he has at least 1 blackout in every game.
The question is, who to bring instead? What are the options?
Look back in this thread ... and you'll find 1 option (well, it's just a rumour). ;)

From the looks of it this season and how strange everything has turned out for us...i actually wouldnt be surprised if we win against Leverkusen or draw!
A win would be vital for us ... but when you look at the statistics (we lost 3 and drawed 13 of the last 16 home games against them), a draw is more likely. Especially, since they can't afford a 3rd defeat in a row if they want to avoid dropping from spot 3.
Unfortunately, a defeat is the most probable outcome for us (our fans don't have any faith in the team at the moment, clearly voting for a Leverkusen victory) ... but how you said, it seems we're unpredictable and able to surprise against the top teams at Borussia-Park so far (Bremen, Bayern). So we can only hope & pray for a little wonder...
Buona notte.

I have seen about half a dozen games against Leverkusen in our stadiums; all draws. I take this in our situation as a good omen, that we get at least one point...

I hope Steve Gohouri stays and this is just a rumor! He is one of the few all-round technical players we have..with great quality..just like MARIN,type of player that can play at any position and scores as well! Actually right now..he seems great in the back field,we need players like him,he also fights and plays with passion:rolleyes:..letting him go is terrible..unless he has problems with management etc and wants to leave anyway!

HG I like Gohouri too, but 4 Mio € and 1,5 years contract. It is stupid, if you don`t sell him for this price.
