Did you know Sigi and Mike brought the US U-20s to train at BMG before the 2005 U-20 World Cup and took them to a game? Oddly enough, we were all in Borussia Park on the same day when BMG played Mainz in 2005 in April.

No, I didn't know that the whole US U-20s team was at Borussia-Park when you showed me those nice pics taken vs Mainz (If I remember right, you & your wife were visible on one of those photos - sitting on the main stand).

I'm happy for Sigi that he made the little sensation and brought the Cup to Columbus in his 3rd year with the club. And of course I'm happy for you, too...:)

Yes we were in the picture--I use that picture as one of my background pictures on my computer at home. Our Crew also has one other BL connection, as one of our former players, Nick Theslof (who actually is from here--Dublin, Ohio, a northern suburb), is one of Klinsi's assistant coaches at the team we will not mention. Klinsmann played a few games for Theslof's (3rd/4th league) team in California a few years ago as "Jay Goeppigen".

I hope Marin will stay, even tho it's inevitable. :(
It happens in every league, the big team (financially speaking) taking all the best players, offering them a lot more money. I don't blame the players, they just want to move forward to get more recognition and success...Still it sucks. It's killing the football spirit that players back then use to have...

Anyway, Meyer is right, and I'm sure he'll get the full support from the fans. The next 2 games are crucial but not impossible. I'm expecting to see the boys fight in saturday, to give all what they have.
I still think he should open with Colautti and Friend as 2 strikers...

I doubt that... only 35.000 tickets sold, the cold weather won't lead to a run on the tickets, and Cottbus brings no supporters with them.
I would start
Gospodarek
Gohouri, Paauwe, Daems, van den Bergh
Alberman, Bradley
Baumjohann, Marin
Colautti, Friend
Cottbus usually apply a very defensive strategy, so Paauwe could move into the midfield according to the situation, and van den Bergh should play with courage on the left flank.
And: Uwe Gospodarek is now a triple father! He missed the training today, but will be back for the match.

Thanx. Gal is a very likeable person (well, I knew this even before this interview:-).

Nevertheless, this number is pretty disappointing in my eyes considering the importance of the game. I know that many fans aren't from the Gladbach city & area and have to travel hundreds of km's to Borussia-Park ... but I also think that you should not only pick the top games if you are a true fan!

Well, at least we'll hopefully have the real supporters at stadium ... since we don't need "Schönwetterfans" who start wistling if we don't have a 2:0 lead at half-time.

I would start
Gospodarek
Gohouri, Paauwe, Daems, van den Bergh
Alberman, Bradley
Baumjohann, Marin
Colautti, Friend

Actually I'd agree with you. However, the problems is that we have just 2 real strikers at the moment (Matmour is more of a midfielder in my eyes), so we'd have no alternatives on the bench for the case that Colautti or Friend has to be replaced. Nearby we'd have a numerical inferiority in the midfield, as Cottbus is expected to play a 4:5:1 ... and we all know what problems we faced with a 4:4:2 against Cologne's & Hertha's 4:5:1.

Let's wait up how Hans Meyer decides. To be honest, I don't think he'll start with vdB as LB again after his poor performance auf Schalke...

And: Uwe Gospodarek is now a triple father!

Glückwunsch! :-))

And where's the translation into English? :-))

Btw: It's good to know that Cottbus didn't manage to score one single goal in 3 Bundesliga games at Borussia-Park ...

Well 35000 gladbach fans is not a small number,if they keep pounding those drums and horns..am sure it will have enough impact...who knows maybe another 500-1000 people would walk in as well!

No disrespect to energie but this is a game we must collect all 3 points..but the oppositions back is also against the wall...i hope we can just play smart efficient and get those points..or its going to get ugly for us B4 winter break:rolleyes:
