I certainly couldn't. If not, name the competition...

John Coltrane - The Complete Village Vanguard, 1961

The Best of the Miles Davis Quintet, 1965-1968

Joy Division - Heart and Soul

The Clash On Broadway (actually, I could have made a better one, but I feel like I have to include for the lyric booklet and pictures alone).

Of interest to you, Gringo...

I used to own a box set of all the music from the Antoin Doinel films. The ex-wife got that one, though...I haven't seen a copy since.

I have this and it's absolutely priceless. The best box set I own. Wouldn't trade it for anything.

Wow. I didn't even know such a thing existed. I'd kill for that.

Sort of impossible. But two strong contenders would be:

Thelonious Monk: Complete Riverside Recordings

and
Harry Smith's Anthology of American Folk Music, Vol. 1-3

And not to be contradictory, but this is probably not the one box set I would choose if I could only have one (I actually don't have the above two -- rather expensive) -- but this is the one that I've loved the most on consistent basis over the years:

Lee Scratch Perry: Open the Gate
http://www.artistdirect.com/Images/Sources/AMGCOVERS/music/cover200/drc900/c997/c99702846*#*#.jpg

3 vinyl discs of the seminal dub. Really great.
