Did anyone else catch him on the Fire v. Revs broadcast?
He was hilarious. He also spoke just the right amount, added some insight and for a "first audition", was smooth as ice.
I don't think of him much as a player anymore but think he could make the transition to the booth with ease.

I agree. He spoked like a true soccer pundit. He did a pretty good job.
Now I wish the Galaxy would not make it to the playoffs next season just to hear him commentating. :D

How the heck can Max (or was it Alan Hopkins, I can't remmeber) not have ever heard of that handbags line. That was odd.

I'd rather the Galaxy release him and have him go straight to broadcasting. He does a lot better in that than playing.

It was Mad Max.
And I'd never heard of that handbags line.
But maybe I'm odd. :)

well, if you'd read the rest of my post you'd see that i thought he was great in the booth, bringing poise, intelligence and humor to the proceedings.
or did you just read the above? i don't get it. and did you see him? or are you just blabbing away?

i read it all. and if i didn't have any emotional stock in one of the teams involved, he would have put me to sleep. i found him boring and lethargic.

well, thanks for clarifying, if you can call it that.
the answer is no.
but as i've learned on BS for sometime now: no one agrees when it comes to announcers.
which is certainly fair enough.
