As others have said, we cannot afford to drop any points against Hull. I want to see a full strength squad that jumps out to an early lead and then kills the match off with fervor. No more coasting about after thirty minutes.
For me, the back five are pretty clear. In midfield, Carrick is the man and needs a start to continue his progression to full fitness. Fletcher should partner him as he has been our most consistent performer in midfield this season (once again, he played a great match against West Ham).
On the wings, Ronaldo is automatic and should be partnered by Nani, who has really improved as of late. Giggs should come on at sixty minutes or so to finish the match.
Upfront, Rooney partners Berbatov. Both men have played inspired football the last couple of weeks, whereas Tevez just hasn't been producing much. On Wednesday he ran around a lot (as he always does) but did not contribute much to the end product: goals. I don't care if Maradona is at the game. Tevez starts on the bench and then subs in for Berbatov at some point in the second half (Berbatov could probably use a little rest after playing a full ninety minutes on Wednesday).

Is it too much to ask for a sustained attacking performance over 90+ minutes?

Was just about to ask the same. It would sure be nice to see us go full tilt just once before we have to face Arsenal.

I think this is a great opportunity for SAF to experiment starting the "big 4". We can play a weaken team midweek vs Celtic if these guys need rest since we should be able get to the next round in CL without problem.
If Carrick is fit, i will start him with Fletcher partnering him. Won't mind seeing Evans involve in this one either.

anderson and tevez both should start. i rate anderson much more highly than fletcher. fletch has played well but there is no comparison between his ability and that of anderson.
tevez had some good touches against west ham. had he not been brought down in the box, should have been a pk, on the heel flick, that would have been goal of the season. me and my soccer buddies were just talking about how sweet that was last night. tevez is world class, and world class managers find a place for world class players in the first xi. end of story.

I want to keep Anderson and Fletcher together in CM. Anderson will fade after 65 mins as usual and Carrick can get some more match fitness and still be ready to start in the midweek game. It is important to get as many players fit for the next couple months or so and making sure Carrick isn't pushed too hard too soon is important.
For that reason I'd like to see Rooney and Tevez up front with Ronaldo and Nani on the wings. Berbatov as a sub to change things up if we need to. Park possibly to start instead of Nani, if not, he should get some minutes to keep him fit for the CL. We'll need him then too.

"I sat down with Wayne the other day and explained that I needed to find out how Berbatov and Tevez played together, and he understood that. But I don't think he'd like to be left out for two or three games! Nevertheless, I don't think it's unmanageable."
Sir Alex hinted that he may once again plump for the Berbatov/Tevez combination for the visit of Hull on Saturday, and he hopes to see the duo build on their midweek outing.
"I wanted to see how the combination of Berbatov and Tevez was together. But Carlos was so wound up to do well himself that they became two different parts," admitted the boss. "I think they'll be far better on Saturday - if I pick them."

Put a strong lineup out there, can't afford to lose the points. We're up 3-0 for Celtic already, play some youth against them. Evans/Rafael and Rooney/Tevez up top.

I agree with Johno - Anderson and Fletcher should start, and then Carrick can come on in 65 minutes to start to get his fitness back. I think its wise to bring on recovering players as subs, and not start and sub, because they can cope better against tired opposition. The first 10 minutes can be dangerous for a player who is not match sharp yet

lets rest fletch so he can come on for carrick if he cant complete a full ninety then we have them both match fit too choose between

when do we change to daylight savings time? Sunday night? if so, then the game is at 11. The difference to GMT is now just 4hrs as they've switched over already.
